Roswell
Forty-seven
years ago, an incident occurred in
the southwestern desert of the United
States that could have significant implications for all mankind. The
incident was announced by the U.S. military, subsequently denied by the
U.S. military, and has remained veiled in government secrecy ever since.
Although it is in a category fraught with false claims and hoaxes, it is
not a hoax or false claim, but rather a known event that is thoroughly
documented.

Area 51
Area 51,
also known as Groom Lake, is a secret military facility about 90 miles
north of Las Vegas. The
number refers to a 6-by-10-mile block of land, at the center of which is
a large air base the government will not discuss. The site was selected
in the mid-1950s for testing of the U-2 spyplane, due to its remoteness,
proximity to existing facilities and presence of a dry lake bed for
landings. Groom Lake is America's traditional testing ground for
"black budget" aircraft before they are publicly acknowledged.
The facility and surrounding areas are also associated -- with varying
levels of credibility -- with UFO and conspiracy stories. In 1989, Bob
Lazar claimed on a Las Vegas television station that he had worked with
alien spacecraft at Papoose Lake, south of Area 51. Since then,
"Area 51" has become a popular symbol for the alleged U.S.
Government UFO cover-up.

Bob Lazar
Bob Lazar claims to have worked
with alien spacecraft at a secret U.S. Government facility at Papoose
Lake, about 80 miles north of Las Vegas. Lazar
intially made his claims on a local Las Vegas television station in Nov.
1989. He says he worked at a facility called "Area S-4" at
Papoose Dry Lake, south of the known government air base at Area 51, in
late 1988 and early 1989. There he says he saw nine flying saucers
housed in hangars built into a hillside. Lazar says he had hands-on
experience with one of the craft and he can describe its propulsion
system in detail. Lazar says he read briefing papers about the alien
presence but that he saw no aliens himself (aside from a fleeting
glimpse of a small figure through a window at the facility).

Gulf Breeze
Sightings
A
series of UFO sightings in Gulf Breeze, Florida
that have taken place since 1987, but
the most concentrated period of sightings was between November 1987 and
May 1988 and were centred around Ed and Frances Walters. The
Walters took a total of forty photos with various cameras over that
period and all of them were evaluated by various scientists and were
proved that they were not faked.
