Full Description & Details

I live in a house about 75 feet from the seawall in seattle wa., my room has a big window that faces the ocean. I woke up at about 3:30 in the morning and had to go to the bathroom, when i came back to bed i looked out at the ocean and saw a strange light. It was in the water, under the water, I thought maybe a boat had sunk close to the seawall. I put on some sweats and a coat and went out to look and see if anyone was in the water. It was foggy but I could see out at water level for a couple hundred yards. I got to the seawall and the light was bright, blue and yellow, it was about 30 yeards out from where I was standing. It moved slow away from me and got brighter, then it was almost out of the water it got dimmer. The thing came up out of the water, it was shaped like a blimp, like a long fat cigar, it had to be 150 to 200 feet long and a dull shiny color like peuter. The lights had dimmed alot but I could still se it real clear. It stopped about 20 feet above the water and just hung there for about 30 seconds then went out just above the water a couple hundered feet then went up and was gone in a flash.

Driving in from Albuquerque I noticed a weird sound in my brothers truck. I turned the radio off, but the sound just got louder. It sound like the bass was on full blast. We drive up to my brothers house and noticed a large ship in front of us that resembled a large plane getting ready to land. I started to freak out when i noticed it wasnt a plane but a ship of some kind. I told my wife to look at it but she was looking in the wrong direction and could see it but could hear it. So I ran into brothers house and brought him outside to see it, by that time it was over the Villa Linda Mall and it turned to the right side and disappeared into the sky. The wierd thing about this was that it was transparent. The stars were visible through it and also had a large sqaure

Full Description & Details

I was owner of a beach bar in Contadora. We were located directly on Galeon beach with ocean view towards north. One night one of my guests suddenly called everybody out to the beach beacause he saw a shiny light coming from south. Almost fifteen people went out to the beach including myself, when we saw the object (almost round, very shiny with different lights around it, ver colorful. First we thought on an airplane or helicopter or something like that, but if there is no emergency, private airplanes are not allowed to fly at nighttime in Panama. Besides, the style of flying was different, not a stable speed, no direct course, it looked more like zic zac, as it suddenly approached a neighbour-island, came down very slowly, we saw the lights reflecting in the water and on the isalnd, it did not land. We calculated the distance more or less about five miles. After a short moment the object took off and disappeared in an east direction in an unbelievable speed.

me and a friend spotted the object at 10.30pm on thursday 10-2-2005, we were around 3 miles south of caister in lincolnshire in england uk. at first i thought it was a bright star low down in the sky, but realised there was to much cloud cover albeit you could still faintly see them. the object was stationary just above the horizon due east from where i was standing, it then appeared to be getting brighter and i realised it was moving towards us. it then stopped above some farm buildings for a short time , this is when my friend spotted it. we both tracked it as it moved off south in a very odd manner. it appeared to be shimmering as it moved along. we both noted there was no sound coming from this object and we calcalated it was half a mile away when we looked at the map back at home. there was something else odd about the shape of it, it looked like from where we were it had a bright looking tenticle hanging down from it. as it moved south it then turned due west directly over a large radio tower. at this point it increased in speed considerably befor starting to flash red, then it just dissapeared behind the clouds, we waited around for a while to see if it would come back, but with no luck. i have thought long and hard about what we saw last night and have come to the conclusion that i know of no convensional aircraft that flies in that manner while making no noise whatso ever. many thanks and i have just become a believer!!!!!!!!!

2130 hrs, I was then 12, my mother was putting me and my 2 sisters to bed for the night, when she noticed a red light comming twoards our house from the west, first thougt was a plane, as I saw it too, but mom said something wasnt right, I looked and it didnt feel right eigther, so we went out onto the front porch, and looked to the south, as it rose from behind the neighbors house, and lit up the street with a glow. It was round, there was no sound, it moved at a bout 20-30mph, and headed east. What was funny is Mom and I were both frozen stiff with fear, as we had never seen anything like this before, yet with in seconds, we felt warm and comforted, as we knew wha ever it was, would not harm us. It continued east for about a mile, then turned south, darted and was gone in an instant.

Full Description & Details

Hi, I read an article about mysterious clouds glow blue.

I found the article very interesting because a few years

ago I had an encounter with a ball of bright blue light.

About nine years ago I was coming home from a friends

House in St Paul Minnesota.

It was nighttime around 9:30 or 10:00 pm when I pulled in front of my house in Minneapolis,

I noticed a blue glowing light on the back glass of a car parked in

front of me about 30 feet. I almost didn't pay it any attention

because I thought it was a reflection of a blue light shining

somewhere in the neighborhood.

While still in my car I looked

up and down the street to see if there was a blue light coming

from somewhere in the neighborhood. I saw nothing. Next,

something strange happened. The blue light shining on the

back glass of the car moved about six feet up in the air. I was

amazed because the blue light was now suspended in mid air.

As I looked at the blue light, it gave me the feeling it was

looking at me.

Next a voice inside my head told me to look at

my rear view mirror. I looked into the mirror and saw two smaller

blue lights outside of my back glass. They stayed there for about

eight seconds and disappeared, weirdest thing I ever saw.

From that point on I am very interested on subjects of blue glowing lights.

I recently purchased the UFO files from the History channel.

The reason I purchased the VHS is because a

Russian cosmonaut explained nearly the same incident he

experienced when he was in outer space, although the lights

He saw where not blue, but gold. I decided to write this e-mail

Incase someone else had a similar experience.

Edge of Space: Mystery Clouds Glow Blue

?

They're thin, wispy, and shiny. They glow an unmistakable shade of electric blue. Clearly visible to the astronauts on the International Space Station, the mysterious clouds float on the edge of space in the same region where the space shuttle Columbia broke up. What are they?

The official name for these high-altitude ice clouds is "noctilucent clouds" or "night-shining clouds." Some even speculate they may have contributed to the Columbia disaster. Others think they are seeded by space dust, while still others suspect they're a sign of global warming. Whatever they are, they're growing in abundance and are a great puzzle to scientists, reports ABCNews.com and Space.com.

They are visible from Earth only in the summer months, so right now they can be seen in the Southern Hemisphere. "We've seen definite changes," admitted John Olivero, a professor of physical science at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla., to ABCNews.com reporter Amanda Onion. "It appears the particles that make up the clouds have gotten slightly bigger with time, and it appears the clouds are now visible further away from the poles than they have been before."

The only other reported sighting of such clouds was more than a century ago in 1883 when Krakatoa, an island volcano in Indonesia, erupted. The ash spewed some 50 miles into the air and anchored water vapor at high altitudes. The vapor condensed to ice, and the blue clouds were formed. In addition to enjoying magnificent sunsets, Indonesians who stayed up late enough reported seeing the shimmering, blue clouds. Long after the sunsets returned to normal, the night-shining clouds were still visible. "It's puzzling," Gary Thomas, a professor at the University of Colorado, told Space.com reporter Tony Phillips. "Noctilucent clouds have not only persisted, but also spread."

A volcano eruption caused them in 1883. What has caused them to appear now? Scientists are stumped. They're up too high--some 30 to 60 miles above the Earth--to reach them by weather balloon, but they're too close to our planet for an orbiting satellite to check it out. There are theories. Global warming and the effect of greenhouse gasses on the mesosphere is the most popular one.

Even the space shuttle Columbia astronauts reported seeing them over the Southern Hemisphere. Because so little is understood about the night-shining clouds, some are wondering if they might have played a role in the Columbia disaster. Others dismiss that since Columbia broke up in the Northern Hemisphere, far away from the clouds.

All these questions may be answered in 2006 when NASA launches a small satellite that will take wide angle photographs of the noctilucent clouds, measure their temperatures and chemicals, and more. Until then, enjoy the view.

The article is titled "UFO Over Maryland?".]]

We live in a single family house on a hillside over looking "the valley" where Reisterstown RD. runs from east to West. We are on the south side of Reisterstown Rd. (21 Old Tollgate Rd). I was laying on our trampoline looking up at the stars and I noticed that some of them were dissappearing almost directly above me. There was a very faint V shape that I could see moving slowly from south to north.

As I looked harder at it, and it began to move directly over the valley, it was below a very slight cloud layer that was at most 1000 ft. I guess that because it was reflecting some light from the valley. When the vehicle came between the cloud layer and myself you could see that it was pretty much perfectly triangular, almost equilateral.

It was black with the exception of a very slight gray V shape along the bottom. There were no lights what so ever on it. Nothing at the points of the triangle, no collision stobes. It looked a good bit like a stealth fighter from directly below, but I could not see the serrated rear edge. I have seen both stealth aircraft up close on the ground and doing daylight flybyes at around 300-600 feet, and it did look a bit like one.

There was no sound what so ever. There was no masking noise in the area to disrupt any sound coming off of it, and it appeared to be no more that 400 feet away when I first noticed it. No exhaust, no apparent heat trail, nothing.

It was moving very slowly, so although it was very low, I had a pretty good long look at it. It maintained altitude and heading and went straight north. I got off of the trampoline so that the pine tree in the back would not block my view and could see a fairly low angle view from the rear. When it got to a certain point, perhaps a half mile away it seemed to just dissappear, although as flat as it seemed, just the angle would have made it even harder to see.

It was definitely solid, and so black that it was extremely hard to see, even as close as it was. If I had not been looking directly at the stars it passed in front of I would never have noticed it. The thing that scared me about it was the fact that a thousand of those could go over this neighborhood every night and no one would even notice them.

I am very familiar with all known civilian aircraft, and all known military aircraft in the current inventory. I work for Lockheed Martin and I have had that interest since childhood. The absolute total silence of it was spooky, along with the slow air speed.

About 20 minutes prior to seeing it, a helocopter had made a complete transit of the area at a slighly higher altitude, which was interesting. I lived about a half mile from the Garrison county police unit and the county copter would at least pass by there if not land very frequently. Generally, the county copter goes over this area every night at around 11 or so. I could not see the colors on it, but it sounded like the usual, but not like the JetRangers that the state police fly. What made it notable was the slow racetrack it ran over the area, but with no spotlight to the ground as if it was looking for something. I don't know if that was related at all.

News report from W*USA 9 News:

UFO Over Maryland?

Written By Kari Pugh, Online Regional Reporter

2/22/2005

Frank Griffin is a firm believer in extraterrestrial life, but he didn’t like the eerie shadow he saw gliding across the sky behind his home in Owings Mills earlier this month.

The Lockheed Martin software engineer was in his backyard looking at the stars the evening of Feb. 9 when a black triangle hovering overhead caught his eye.

"It was very dark and this thing was so hard to see," he said. "But it was moving slowly, with no lights and no noise. Honestly, I didn’t feel comfortable. It was sort of scary."

Owings Mills, Md., is a densely populated suburb not far from a local airport, Andrews Air Force Base and the Patuxent Naval Air Station.

But for Griffin, who has studied aircraft since he was a child, the object didn’t look like anything he’d ever seen or heard about before.

The black triangle was at a low altitude, maybe 500 to 800 feet, with no lights, he said.

"It was so low, at first I thought it was something caught in the trees," Griffin said.

He said it looked a bit like a stealth bomber, but was "absolutely silent."

Griffin wonders if anyone else in the area saw something similar that evening. He spotted the object about 6:45 p.m. and watched its ascent across the sky for three to four minutes.

"It had only been dark maybe half an hour, 45 minutes," he said. "I wonder if it was out before dark."

Mysterious black triangles have been part of UFO folklore for years. Sightings of low-flying and silent aircraft are scattered across websites dedicated to the study of other-worldly activity.

The National Institute for Discovery Science, a group devoted to the study of unexplained phenomena, has gathered hundreds of reports from across U.S. and Canada of similar aircraft, often flying in high-population areas near major interstates.

One theory holds that the black triangles are experimental military blimps or balloons, perhaps equipped with electrokinetic propulsion systems, which would make them silent.

The military has never confirmed the existence of such balloons, but according to many UFO websites, Lockheed Martin did begin work on a triangular stealth blimp in 1982.

NIDS issued a report in August 2004 suggesting that the black triangles may be some kind of military aircraft, though the truth about them is not known.

Griffin finds solace in the fact that what he saw might have a logical explanation.

"I felt a little comforted when a buddy suggested it might be a military balloon," he said. "But I’d really like to know if anyone else spotted this thing."

Other Comments

I would love to know if anyone else in the area saw this. Had it been higher and faster I might have thought it was a stealth fighter or something, but at the distance I saw it, moving as slowly and silently as it was, I don't think it was anything military. Also, without any markers it was flying right in the BWI NW landing pattern, and there were planes fairly well stacked in bound in the area into which it was directly headed.
