Appearance / Description of Object(s)
Black wedges, non-reflective, dull, no details at all except the slightly rounded three points each--all were identical in shape and size--like an "A" with the bottom closed and that proportion, as well.

Rural with sub-urban within a few miles. Lake Norman area, with boating, lake houses, etc. not far away.

In my Cadillac, with a large windscreen, from the East side of Hwy. I-77 going north, just north of Charlotte, NC closely approaching Lake Norman and crossing it, I saw three black wedges in the sky, moving slowly in formation with the center one leading and the one to its left about 1/3 further back but at its side and the one to its right about 1/2 way back and also at its side. they moved as one, with no variation in direction, height from ground, speed or angle or flight.
When I first saw them, I estimate they were at about 37 degrees up and about 45 degrees forward from my ground position.
I slowed in good traffic and watched closely, a 1-second glance to them, 1-second glance to the open road--I couldn't take my eyes away--every other second back to them.
They approached too slowly for usual aircraft; I put the window down because I couldn't hear them and they were going too slowly for forward aerodynamics to be holding them up. But there was absolutely NO SOUND! Eventually, they were over me and I had to lean forward to see them beyond the roof of my car, so, I put my head into the window and watched as they passed almost straight up from me and very few degrees to my right. They had now passed over I-77 and were still traveling soooo slowly, still in constant formation and looking much larger.
I looked carefully for something with which I could compare the height or size of them, but nothing worked, although I could focus on the skin of the objects plainly and there were NO fin-type, figured, protruding or inset or colored or openig type details AT ALL to identify anywhere on them--only those NON-reflective wedges in the bright sun. Even at the distance at which I first saw them, they were just flat looking wedges and as they got closest I could see the three points were slightly rounded and not sharp. It was like looking at the bottom of an old-fashioned iron women once used to iron clothes with EXCEPT that all sides were geometrically straight, no curves and no deviations in shape anywhere, at all.
Of all these things I am sure.

Absolutely not. I study and watch weather, clouds, the sky--SkyWarn, etc.

Views on UFOs, before and after sighting
That same year I had a strange experience at my home in Charlottre with sounds and lights only, but had never seen, read of or cared about anything "ufo" or "alien."I was a constant worker and watched television to check the weather and loved reading more than anythng else.
Since that time, I have seen recentreports of air pilots, military, commercial, law agents, physicists, etc, having reports made officially. That is why I got the nerve to share. At the time, I did not want to be labeled.

3...I never assume what we don't know should cause fear.
4...I hope that things unexplainable by science as we (the ignorant public) knows it may be explained and revealed in my lifetime.
