As a child about 8, I was with a group of kids at church in Glen Allen, VA and looked out the back fire excape door window on the 2nd or 3rd floor. I saw very close to the back of the church an oval or saucer shaped UFO about 100-150 feet from me. It was really close. I was pretty much eye level with it looking slightly upward. I could see what appeared to be a number of window segments separated by vertical strips (not a continuous window-segmented like an airplane window) that extended about 50-60 percent of the object's width. The object appeared to be about 15-20 feet tall, and about 30-50 feet wide. It was pretty much occupying the leaf span directly over about a 30-50 year old oak or similar tree. The window portion of the craft was eminating a red llight and was very close to the top of the tree, so the windows may have been on the underside - but am not real sure on this point. The main thing I remember was a soft red light from the windows (like cockpit lights) and it silouetted several humanlike figures that appeared to be sitting with some slight movements. I was curious until I saw the movement and that is what really scared me.
It made no apparent noise that I could hear inside, and was hovering very still. I could not tell what color or material the object was, but I could clearly see its basic form in the dark.
I was looking through a paned glass door window. The object was not directly in view. I was looking from the right corner of a door window pane toward the left. The tree was up against the corner of the church about 100 to 150 feet away to the left.
When I saw the movement inside the object, I remember grabbing another kid to look at it and he saw it too. When this happened, I got very scared and ran into the main church disrupting the service.
There was a significant wooded area behind the church that probably extended several miles behind the church at that time in the 1960s.
I would consider myself level-headed, and have always paid close attention to details. I currently work as an engineer.

Other Comments
I have talked to my brother and sister about this. They indicated they have talked to other people who were in Glen Allen in 1964-1966 and remember a number of people who saw UFOs in the area. Of course UFOs were a hot topic back then, if I remember correctly.
