Appearance / Description of Object(s)
To describe the object in question: it had a typical UFO a "saucer" shape, but rather than what is usually depicted when "flying saucer" comes to mind, it had a much more oblong-angular body to it. As I said I'm the summary it was almost an egg shape but flattened and had box-like vertices along the top and bottom of the object. As an artist I've drawn out the object before but have never been able to capture what exactly how it looked. Being that it was night, there was not much color I could discern other than a "greyish" battleship color. The one feature that really stood out was this flat ring that went around the object. It was colored in a fiery red-orange color scheme and flickered in a nonsensical order in panels that all were in similar size. The ring really made the whole UFO possibility concrete, since like it had the Star Trek type glow when it took off into the horizon. The overall sheen of the object was matte, I didn't notice any reflections on the object but the ring had a sort of shimmer to its appearance.
Description of Area / Surroundings
It was at a beach, clear night, waning half-moon, good visibility, minor cloud cover, slight breeze around 5-9 mph coming from a NE direction. There is a U.S. airbase supposedly somewhere close to the beach according to my father.
Full Description & Details
I have never been a guy who has always believed in UFO cases; however, my personal experience changed my opinion rather instantaneously. It was a few years so during my family's annual beach trip, wherein myself along with close family friends stay for 2 weeks at Ocean Isle beach at our house. From what I can recall, I was sitting on the gazebo at the end of the pier/walkway that led from my oceanfront beach house down to the beach with a close friend of mine, just talking about life things. Of course as nature would have it I would be the only one bothering to sit facing the ocean, which was lit rather beautifully by the moon that night, and my friend seated in front of me facing toward the house. As we concluded our thoughtful conversation I saw an object streak from the southern direction from where I sat and freeze before me. I should note that this occurred within a span of 5 seconds. It hovered briefly from what appeared to be about 400 meters from the shore before it swung back and vanished in an easterly direction. It took me several minutes to process what I had just seen and after fruitlessly asking my friend if he had just seen what I did, I tried to rationalize the event.
Now from what I can remember my father saying to me was that there is a US air base around Ocean Isle and my first thoughts went to there as to identify what I had seen. I could recall seeing many airplanes and helicopters of varying models fly in the air throughout the years I've gone to Ocean Isle, and I even recall seeing a stealth plane fly overhead one night. But nothing I could remember seeing fly that would relate to any sort of US military aircraft resembled what I saw in the sky that night. The way it flew in was almost water-like. It sort of swooped in from my field of vision without any sort of hesitancy or sign of propulsion. It hovered as a fishing bobber might in the way it dipped in the air slightly as it rotated slightly. The main movement I remember was the way it left. It sort of, reared up from where it was and shot off in the east into the horizon, but maintained an "upwardly" ascent as it flew. It made no noise or any sound, there was a flash of dim light as it took off but it didn't illuminate the ground around me. It did reflect on the water; however.
be explained as any conventional man-made or natural
No, I love space, I love learning about it and have for a long time, I also loved to learn about planes (specifically WWII era planes) and nothing I have ever learned about resembled what I saw in the sky that night.
I am a student, studying to become a sound engineer at a university. I've studied for 7 years in philosophy, 5 in theoretical physics, and 10 in artisic expression. I am Native American (100%) and lived as an adopted child since birth.
Views on UFOs, before and after sighting
I've always thought that UFO Sightings were a bit dodgy, I've always been skeptical of "UFO enthusiasts" (no offense of course), and I consider myself a well-educated individual as well as rational. I've always had an interest in the "conspiracy" side of things regarding aliens, demons, religion, Ect. And have always found it fascinating to read about. But I never truly committed to the ideas.
I'm my opinion, I believe aliens are real and I believe what I saw that night was not of this earth.
