I was 11 years at the time and was living in a small fishing town called Filey on the east coast of the UK. My father was in the RAF and stationed there.

A friend and myself were walking along the cliff tops during the afternoon, when this bright oval object rose out of the sea and disappeared to the east at a terrific speed.

I reported this to my father when he came home, from the RAF Base and he told me not to say anything to anyone as there had been a bit of a "flap" on with the Radar at the base.
