I looked like a star, then turned into 3 trianglar stars. White light.

No idea, it was way up there and pretty small.

North Pacific beach, fairly urban area next to the bay not the beach. We are by military bases given it is San Diego.

Full Description & Details

Spotted in North Pacific Beach 8:30pm. I was looking at the sky for the meteor shower and one of the stars that was standing perfectly still in the sky started moving very slowly after being stationary for at least 10 minutes. I thought it was a star until that point. Not flashing like an airplane this star moved North East, curving slowly downwards towards the horizon.

After that it suddenly turned into 3 lights in a triangular shape, hovered in one spot, and then went back to being one light.

After it curved around 1 minute later, it circled up and totally disappeared.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

No idea but it was not a plan, have not seen a weather ballon, it could not have been a shooting star, it was a clear night, not a bird, not a blimp.

Views on UFOs, before and after sighting

I believe in them before the sighting. Saw one in Northern California before. I've seen a few television shows but I am a logical person and do not spend my free time filling out surveys unless I am dead certain I saw something.
