Date Reported:

Sighting Time:

6--7 p.m.

No. of Witnesses:

Appearance / Description of Object(s)

after seeing Halle Bop a few years ago. my interest became renewed. the object was quite large with a bright glow in front and what appeared to be burning tail following earthward. when it was fairly close it seemed to be emitting a zzzzzzz as we have heard"shootin g stars" do when they pass overhead.

Size of Object(s)

the size was huge compared to shooting stars l have seen in the past---quite possibly 5--10 feet across. with its speed and brightness, it was difficult to tell only large.

Description of Area / Surroundings

area consists of rural area bush with few inhabitants , no military or power plants. only country acreage for quite a few miles around

Full Description & Details

l was to meet some of my friends on this evening to go sledding on the hills around our house.as l was outside enjoying the bright moonlight, l looked up and again saw an object coming towards earth emitting sparks with a tail. the object seemed to be spiralling downward. l watched it until it hit the earth. it was difficult to tell just how large it was because of its brightness and the sparks and tail.as it neared the earth, there seemed to be less sparks and a brighter and longer tail. lt crashed with a large noise creating a light that lit up the bush for quite a large distance around. it also caused the ground to vibrate like a minor earthquake. when my friends arrived at my home, l asked them if they had seen it and their response was, "how could you not see it". by asking where they were when they saw it and where it had landed, l was able to pinpoint approximately where it hit. it was east and about 1/4-1/2 mile away in the bush. at this time the ground was frozen and covered with about 3 feet of snow. to light up the surrounding bush and sky as it did, it had to be quite a large meteorite or something. we had always planned on hunting for it when the snow was gone because we could have seen an area where the trees were smashed and burned and also maybe find some kind of crater. unfortunately, we never did. look for it. to my knowledge neither has anyone else. hopefully l will undertake this ,this summer.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

was not conventional unless someone had satellites up in 1959. was not natural and why was it visible on 2 separate night at approximate same time.

Witness Background

finished high school and took course in technical school. worked in construction. worked in factory until retired. then various fields for a while.

Views on UFOs, before and after sighting

l do believe in ufo.s. why should this be the only place for a species to develop with billions of galaxies out there .don't know for sure how strong my beliefs were before this sighting. doesn't really matter, does it

Other Comments

a spiralling object with a tail gi9ving off what appeared to be parks one night and falling to earth next night. strange isn't it.
