Appearance / Description of Object(s)
Bright small light, that increased in size. It was brilliant white with a tint of blue. There was no visible metal or any other type of shape. Just the light, sort of like a bright street light or the bright headlight of a plane.
Size of Object(s)
I would say from the distance that it was, it must've been slightly bigger than a plane.
Description of Area / Surroundings
I was on a residential hill, overlooking the city of Corona and Riverside, CA. I had a good panoramic view of both cities from my house.
Full Description & Details
I've been an avid star gazer for a few years (thou not actively now due to family constraints), and I went out at night after I had put my little girl to sleep. I lived in Corona, CA at the time and was looking east towards Riverside, watching the planes that come towards the west towards LAX or perhaps even John Wayne Airport. It must have been around 9 pm. because it was really dark. It had been very hot that day and it was still warm outside. I leaned against my truck and continued to look at the sky towards the east looking at the airplanes coming in, when I saw that one of the bright lights, which I first thought was the headlight of a plane, was simply hovering in place and did not seem to move ahead or change direction for me to be able to see it's blinking hazard lights. So I continued to stare at this light for what it seemed no more than 30 to 45 seconds. Suddenly this light decreased in size, then lit up as bright as a street light, reduced back to the original size then shot straight up into the sky. I immediately gasped knowing that I had just experienced an encounter and continued to look at the object traversing through the night sky, getting smaller and smaller until it was no longer visible in the dark. I was shocked to see this and sadly did not have any equipment to record this, besides time would not have allowed it as it took no more than a minute to occur. This has left me puzzled and baffled, and since I cannot keep my eyes from looking at that side of the sky; maybe hoping I'll get another chance and be able to fully discern what that light really was. It could not have been one of our own, it could not have been a satellite or a bird as I've been told before. This thing was bright! And at the speed it took into the heavens not even our rockets can go that fast. No way! I have not seen it again since. I hope this information helps.
Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?
No, because none could shoot towards the heavens at the speed and trajectory that this object did.
I have done a career change and I am now a Certified Court Interpreter. I completed over 5 years of training and education towards this career. I'm a former student of CalState Fullerton. I was also a former Mortgage Servicing Specialist, who focused on loan servicing and origination investigations and QA of funding proceses and procedures. I still work in this industry, thou only part time from home.
Views on UFOs, before and after sighting
I had heard and seen on tv. My brother in law also had told me about some experiences with them, but I didn't believe them one bit then. I thought they were just people's imaginations or a craft they did not know of but was man made. My views now is that I'm shocked. I know now that they are real, but I'm trying very much to understand why they are here. Sometimes it's scary to think they may not have good intentions. But I wonder why it just stood there? Why nothing else? Why did it leave so fast? Why was it here in the first place? And why out of all places Riverside, or California for that matter? I have too many questions and I cannot answer any of them. This event has me really puzzled.
I would like to know more, as to why these events keep happening. I had a different sighting before this one and I completely carded it off to just a reflection in the sky. I would love to know more about this and why they are occurring so often, as I see on tv and other media, this is occurring more and more often. It's very scary.
