Quote on UFO evidence from Francis Ridge, NICAP

Francis Ridge, UFO researcher, site coordinator, NICAP (National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena):

'The following is what makes UFOlogy worth pursuing and is not intended for the close-minded. We already have:

1) Millions of sightings worldwide and a hundred-thousand-plus sightings are on computer (UFOCAT).

2) 3,000-plus sightings from aircraft (Dr. Richard Haines).

3) 489 radar cases, many radar/visual (Dominique Weinstein); 363 radar cases, 76 as R/V (USAF records alone).

4) 5600 trace cases documented, 4104 involving UFO visual sightings (CUFOS).

5) Over 500 cases of E-M effects associated with UFO sightings (CUFOS) and 185 E-M cases documented involving UFOs near aircraft (Dr. Richard Haines).

6) Hundreds, if not thousands, of excellent close encounters by credible obswervers whose testimony in court would be taken at face value.

7) About 4,000 (701 originally) UNKNOWNS listed in Project Blue Book files.

Certainly an impressive account of anecdotal information. But even if all of it is true, it falls short of the one thing believers in the phenomena dont have: Evidence. PROOF.

Think about it...these sightings and encounters have been recorded throughout history, in countless geographic regions, a multitude of cultures... and yet no one has produced soild proof of any of it. I just viewed a supposed video of saucer activity above the skies over Nellis AFB. It struck me that these blurred, misshapen images were really no better than the blurred images captured on film from the 50s-60s era. Therefore, your photos, your radar scans, your errant unexplained images from satellites are not proof.

What you need to ask yourself is why there is no proof? Is it possible that throughout the ages the evidence has been meticulously packed away? Can you not see how impossible that would be? A chunk of meteorite slams into the home of a West Virginia couple, smashing the west wing of their house and demolishing their Ford pickup. We see it on the news. The "government" wasnt able to get there in time to trace it down, do their evidence gathering, before determining its not sentient. The point is this shows they cant be everywhere, which means at some point in time there should have been irrefuteable evidence available.

Does this mean I say there are no lifeforms from outer space? Believe it or not, no, I dont say that. But youre going to have to produce a helluva lot more than what you have so far to be able to convince the majority, and that only makes sense.

In reply to 'Scullyhubby': the amounts of evidence amassed throughout the years are solid items, not "anecdotal info". It's up to Science to figure out how our senses are telling us about something that perhaps in classical physics terms isn't in our reality (but yet still exists). Scullyhubby, next time you're in the company of Mormons, please tell them their religion is really based on pure fiction. (Their founder saw some angels in the woods: You can't tell me the 'reality problem' of angels is much if any different than the logical quandry presented by UFo.) You see, the problem is I think on our end, --human perceptions and states of consciousness. When we learn more about the strange world of quantum mechanics, I don't think Ufos will be so much of an impasse to our understanding of ourselves.
In re: to crop circles: large and complicated designs or pictograms imprinted in fields. We all know that two old guys from a pub can do amazing things after just a few brews. I'm sorry but there's no logical answer for crop circles either. Even if 5000 of the circles were done by hoaxers, that still leaves a vast amount unaccounted for ( in terms of origins).

If Raj had a thousand times the evidence he portrayed in his posting, people
that don't believe, just will not believe. Period. Scullyhubby quotes a fuzzy picture.
Well, there a thousand good ones to take its place. And the videos that have
come out the last couple of years are really good, but they will still not
believe. Eyewitness accounts by the most reputable and honest people
around, are still dismissed as nonsense. Astronauts, policemen, highway
patrol, pilots, and the non-believers won't listen, no matter what.

And the crop circles are amazing. Sure, some of them are created by folks
who have tipped a few too many pints, and maybe a lot of them have been done
by these guys and gals, but there are so many of them worldwide, and they
keep showing up almost daily in some part of the world. I would go out on a
limb and bet the ranch that these two guys from England aren't doing ALL of
them. Nonsense. I am sure that a tremendous amount of them are done by
other beings, or probes. What the message is, is the question. Just what do
they represent and what does it mean? No one seems to have a clue what
they are telling us. Not even the people who have studied the Bible, or art,
or cave drawings, or ancient Egypt can begin to tell us what they mean.
If it is really Aliens doing this, I wish they would just write out a message in the
wheat and be done with it, like, NUCLEAR WAR IS NOT GOOD FOR YOU, or,

I think it could be more simple Robert. Like to show us that their here. Like saying HI WERE HERE, and this is how geometrically precise we can be.

I think in some ways they want people to know thier here on earth. Thats why they hover in the air for prolonged periods around people. But your right, NO MATTER ALMOST ANY EVIDENCE MOST WILL NEVER EVER NEVER BELIEVE.

There is PROOF, but the problem is:

The goverment hides the PROOF!

If you want the proof then tell the government that.
