Well Barry
I am pretty much in agreement. I do believe these MIB exist, but not to the degree they are potrayed as. I do not believe them to be extra-terrestrial in origin at all, but agents of some sort either govt. or operating above the govt. shaking down people that have seen things they were not meant to see. I believe they act in these strange manners to confuse and/or disorient their targets, and so that if somebody was to convey the story to others some of the details would be so warped that the person would just sound insane.
These stories about them wearing lip-stick, and somebody noticing a wire running up one of their legs when one of their pant legs rose up while they sat down... If these were truly beings from an advanced civilization, or androids, ect... you would think they would be more intelligent than to wipe their mouths with lipstick on to reveal a strange looking slit... or to reveal a wire stuck in their leg. These things must be done on purpose by these "human" beings in an attempt to make people think there is something un-earthly about them.
As far as those 40 documented cases you speak of... I would take them with a grain of salt just as much as I would other un-documented cases and peoples accounts that post on sites like this. As a matter of fact I would be even LESS inclined to believe those 40 cases, because they are accounts of UFO-ologists and researchers, who would be more likely to fabricate such stories because those people are obsessed with UFO's, their entire lives revolve around them.
I would be far more compelled to believe a story from any average Tom, Dick, or Harry that has no motive to really make up such a story. People that conceal their names or give a fake one out of fear of ridicule. These types of people are obviously not looking for publicity or fame, and are just average ordinary people that dont obsess over this stuff for a living. These are the stories I am more inclined to take seriously, as opposed to non-sense like the fantasy world Bender lived in.
When I look at a story of a supposed MIB encounter on the main page by a guy who calls himself "John Doe", that looks far more believable than most of the rubbish you see on sites like this. The guy obviously does not want his name known, and he proceeds to acknowledge that he is not even sure it had happened or was just a dream, because he was very drunk that night. His account is not very detailed, and he does not claim to have seen a black Cadillac, a hellicopter, or lipstick. It doesnt appear as if he tried to overly-exagerate anything, and even concedes that it all could have been a dream. THESE are the types of accounts that I'm inclined to take seriously. However, the sad thing is that such stories are discounted as fakes while the accounts of mad-men like Benders stories end up etched in the archvies forever, and people actually take them seriously.

MIB's, UFO's, and the Carlos Allende Letters
This article poses some interesting and poignant questions about the nature of MIB's, their clandestine efforts to conceal alien intentions, and who, or what is hoaxing the public with these fantastic supernatural creatures?
With recent revelations in the UFO literature, via the FOIA, and from two items I've read here in loose documents: it would seem ultimate exposure to the truth of alien technology is at hand, or at least, definable, with or without being given the 'secrets' by tricky, loose-lipped MIB's. And to counter the perfection of complete MIB control, what about people like Greer, and Bob Lazar, who seemed to have explained, perhaps criptically, what ufo's are, their technologies, and where they came from? I haven't heard of any confirmed reports that they are getting visits from MIB's, unless you want to include Greer's cancer, and ladies of the night/government agents at Bob's "chicken ranch" escapades! And from this site, I read that as early as 1961, a subsidiary of McDonnell-Douglas, Astropower, Inc., was involved in "advanced propulsion" research using advanced physics of electrical, chemical, and electromagnetic sources? And recently, I read that Boeing now (2002) admits to be working on advanced 'anti-gravity propulsion" programs, undoubtedly, as part of a government contract. Hey, Free Energy physics is here, and it's being funded by our government! Surprise.
Now why would we be admitting these things? Because they are already known, and have been, for 45 years! The truth is out there, in the public domain, with or without the control of MIB's. With only 40 known MIB interventions, and hundreds of MIB myth-invention stories, covering the last 150 years, it's no wonder we don't know what is true. Somebody better come up with some fresh MIB stories, the last one I read is 1997, and most of the stories here read like a series of comic book episodes! Where are the good science fiction writers?!
