Appearance / Description of Object(s)
It was white/chrome orb like object. It flickered, similar to a glare atop of a shiny object like a watch when the sun hits it. It did not look big, but it looked like it had mass and was able to move on a dime.
Description of Area / Surroundings
Highway 92 between 280 and West Hillsdale has many homes but it is mostly 4 lane roads. There is a large body of water called Crystal Springs Reservoir, which is 130+ years old, this body of water could be a reason why it came to visit.

I was driving to San Francisco State taking my usual route from 92 to 280 north When I was startled to find one orb-like object moving across my windshield from the left to right about 3 inches from my point of view. This object was well above the mountains of San Mateo County, and this object was only scene for 4 seconds. It became bright-like the sun flickered off of it and it then disappeared.
Can sighting
be explained as any conventional man-made or natural
object?
It could have been a balloon, but how does it flicker and disappear?

I am a student in Philosophy at SFSU. I work at a local Snowboard/Ski shop.
Views on UFOs, before and after sighting
I am not a skeptic, but I cannot say i believe in UFOs. I would like to believe that anything is possible, but seeing that made me want to report it.
