Summary:
A bright, large flame like orange glow. Was moving slowly above north carluke around 10.40pm. Disappeared behind some cloud, but could still see the orange glow light up the cloud cover and night sky.

Looked like a ball of fire, flickering like a flame / fire does.

It was over a residential area at the north side of Carluke.
Full Description & Details
Travelling along a back road around 10.40pm towards Carluke. To my right was the edge of Carluke where is saw an orange glow in the sky. the glow was probably around half a mile away fom me, and it seemed to flicker like a flame and was large (4-5 times the size of a helicopter). The object hovered and moved for a few seconds, before it slowly moved behind cloud cover. As it disappeared behind the cloud cover, the light that it gave off could be seen glowing through the cloud, and surrounding nigth sky. I heard no sound from this object as it moved,
