same shape, colour, and brightness as the half moon bay photo, but i didnt notice rings. looked alittle smaller but was further away im guessing about the same size considering the difference in distance.
Description of Area / Surroundings
rural area not far from the built up suburbs, northern tip of western port bay near melbourne.
we had a fire going, in a vacant area of land quite close to a water tower about 30metres high, we were surrounded but property lots of about to acres big,. most of these lots had houses, it was over the far paddock after the one closest to us

pretty much what you see in the photo at half moon bay, is what we saw, a little further away
but we didnt notice the rings in it it looked more smooth it was there for a fair while then just shot off and dissapeared in an instant it went diagnaly up and to our right. my theory is that these things are some kind of reconisance device just for getting a closer look, why dont they communicate? mayby were too violent. it was at night alittle sky was alittle cloudy and we had a camp fire going.
