The 6 swirling lights were small not much bigger than the stars, they were round and a little brighter than the stars. They were kinda flickering.

Rural Area, There is a military base 20minutes away in Suffield, Alberta Canada. The sighting was from my back deck #14 9th Street SW Medicine Hat , Alberta

I went outside for a smoke at 3:00am. I often wake up in the middle of the night and have a quick smoke and back to bed. I was looking up at the stars, it was a beautiful and warm summer night. I was looking at the big dipper, when I thought I saw an airplane of some sort. It was coming across the sky to the right of the big dipper. When I looked closer there were 6 small swirling lights. They swirled around in a round shape and then they swirled around in two sets of three round circles. They continued to alternate between the swirling large circle and the swirling set of two circles until they went over my house and out of sight. They appear to go much faster than an airplane. The whole sighting had to be less then a minute. I have never seen anything like this before, I sat there shocked.

be explained as any conventional man-made or natural
object?
No, I sat there trying to firgure out what it was. It bothered me enough to not go back to sleep like I usual do.
