I don't recall the shape of the object but I remember 4/5 yellow lights

Very rural surroundings. Plenty of farms, fields and there are a few airfields in the area.

Before I start, this incident occured around 10 years ago so details will be a bit sketchy but it's never left my mind and when I found this site, I thought it's about time i shared my experience with people who would be interested in my case.
it was a summer evening around 11pm back in '97(approx)..me and my uncle were returning home after watching a movie and driving down a quiet country road. As we were talking away, my uncle noticed a set of lights in the sky so i also looked, at first we merely dismissed it as a helicopter but the craft appeared to be absolutely motionless so we decided to pull over by the side of the road and wind down the windows for a better look. Now if it was a helicopter(and correct me if i'm wrong) surely we would have heard at least a faint sound, but the area was completely silent. We must have been watching the object for at least 5 minutes but our eyes were so fixed it could have been longer.
Unfortunately neither of us had a camera on us and it was very dark so it's hard to describe the shape of the object and it's distance. I'm not very good with distances at all so i won't even try and predict how high it was exactly but it was very high up in the sky and the relative size of the object was maybe around 12 inches.
For the whole duration of this sighting i remember the object staying completely still, is this possible for any aircraft? After a while the object started to float up into the sky before completely disppearing out of sight.

Views on UFOs, before and after sighting
Always had an interest in UFO's and anything paranormal but my interest only went as far as watching documentaries on the TV when they were on and never any deeper then that.

Reported To: we got in touch with the airbases in the area to ask if they had any aircraft in the air the evening before but they told us they hadn't.
