Size of Object(s): Again no object was observed, but the contrail like like it produced went from the northern horizon the the southern horizon in an instant. Or the other way, too fast to tell.

My friends and I witnessed two bright flashes in the sky in rapid sequence at aproximately midnight May 20, 2006. Between the two flashes of light, a faintly glowing line appeared in the sky similar to a contrail, only it was not there before the flashes of light and then it was. No moving object was witnessed creating the line. It was just there from one end of the sky to the next in an instant. The entire contrail like line faded at the same rate within 2 minutes. There was no sound audible to accompany the flashes of light. The sky was essentially clear with no weather conditions to account for this strange event.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?
Not unless man has created and is testing aircraft that can travel faster than light and leave glowing contrails as the only evidence of thier passing
