The object was a large illumination. I am not calling it a light because it was not a light.

Residential area - no military bases or power plants. Suburbia.

I was driving home in the evening during a warm evening. I had my window open and was stopped at a stop ligho I felt like someone was staring at me so I looked to see where this feeling was coming from. In the sky was a large illumination which I felt was focused on me. It even repositioned itself as if to keep me in the best view I turned a corner. The feeling I had during this time was peaceful, I was not scared but fascinated with what I was seeing. At one point it moved to another position in a jagged manner but with great speed. When I arrived at my destination, I kept looking I kept looking at it for several seconds. It then sped off at a great speed without making any noise.
Many years later, my youngest son and I were standing on our driveway in Crystal Springs, Illinois, and had a very similar experience.

N, because man made flying objects do not fly jaggedly nor do they have the speed this object had.
Personal Background
At the time, I was an importer and distributor of gourment and specialty foods from Europe, mostly France. I had 3 years of college, I was married with 2 children.

I was a skeptic and truly did not give it too much thought.
