We were driving towards Rayton from Pretoria. It was not yet completely dark. Exactly at the same time my husband and I saw an object - not an aeroplane - move from the right, slightly towards us. It suddenly changed direction and shot away from us at a great speed (an ordinary plane would not move so fast). away from us and dissappeared. It looked like a grain of rice (from the side), but possibly disk-like in shape and was bathed in a bright green light (brighter in the horizontal middle of the object). Everything happened very quickly, but when it shot away we both shouted at the same time: "Have you seen it?". We saw the siting from different angles while we were driving, but had exactly the same experience. It could not have been a aeroplane (too fast) or a reflection of light. There is very few houses and no airfield in the area.
Personal Background
During the time of the incident I was an Analyst at the South African National Intelligence Agency and my husband a Client Service Manager at a large IT company. We now have our own business.
Other Comments
Afterwards we told colleagues and friends about the incident. They thought we were crazy. Nothing was mentioned in the media during this time about similar incidents and we were to shy to report it (and didn't know where to report it).
