could not tell shape, behavior similar to "shooting star" although it swerved and changed colors gradually.

Rural area, many trees and hills. No special sites or features in area except small town.

Full Description & Details

From my observational point, the object came into view at the zenith point and continued down until it was out of view due to trees and foliage. No noise heard. Total duration of sighting was probably around 10 seconds.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

High probability it was a meteor, the swerving motion was not obvious. Color change could not be explained.

Views on UFOs, before and after sighting

A UFO is simply an "Unidentified Flying Object", which does not necessarily mean it is an alien spacecraft. I have no previous knowledge is the field of "UFOlogy".
