Appearance / Description of Object(s)

At first I thought it was a ball then over me it was a triangle. Orange in color like if it was on fire. Definetely not a meteorite.

relative size: 1/4 inch actual size: a plane size

It was in rural area, no lights on the road, pitch black, clear sky, nothing important around except houses here and there.

I was driving on road 323 back to my summer home around 9:30 p.m. August 18, 2012. I could not miss it it was right in front of me in the sky, at first I didn't know what to think but to see that, what I thought it was a big orange ball .... I stopped right away on the side road, put my flashers on, and roll down my window. Then I looked up and it was stand still and to a point I thought it was coming down on me but it started to move very slowly and then I thought it could be a plane on fire because it had a nose, the object was triangle... and it disappeared in the sky the light faded away.

The object moved from south to north.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

two things I thought, first a plane on fire, second a satellite entering the sky and caught on fire... with the orange color anybody would think of fire, I have no idea what it was.

I believe that something is going on in our sky, always did... I never read but watched programs on TV...

When I got home last night I did not know where to call, I left a message on the internet to a tv station...and tonight I had to find a way to tell someone besides my mother and husband. Hope you will take this seriously... I'm sure it showed up on radar somewhere... thank you for your good work. Mary
