Description of Area / Surroundings

Looking out my front door, turning to face east is a highway. This is where the objects drifted across my field of vision. It is a clear view with no trees obstructing the view.

Me and my neighbor were outside talking. We were remarking on what a clear night sky we had, when my neighbor pointed towards the horizon at a string of glowing, silent, sphere's drifting across the night sky. They flared with intensity one at a time, before each shot across the sky and out of sight.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

At first I thought the looked like chinese lanturns, but they flew away in such a way as to rule that out for me. It was not anything man made I can identify.

Views on UFOs, before and after sighting

I don't know if there are aliens or anything like that, but I know well enough to know when I don't know what something is.
