Appearance / Description of Object(s)Triangular shaped aircraft with flashing red and blue lights. Size of Object(s)Perhaps the size of a commercial plane or larger. Distance to Object(s) & AltitudeIt looked the same distance as a low flying aircraft approaching the shore line from the sea. Description of Area / SurroundingsSea, lush green forestry, near a residential area Full Description & DetailsAround 11.30, I was locking up my front door which is sea facing. I noticed an aircraft travelling quite fast inland from the horizon of the sea, towards the coast line. I thought it was a plane, but it seemed strange as we do not see planes flying in our direction as the airport is south of Shelly Beach. I waited for it to turn towards Durban, however it stood and seemed to hover. I noticed it had flashing blue and red lights. I grabbed the binoculars and saw that it looked triangular in shape, as it was lit in flashing blue and red lights which appeared to be triangular. It hovered for 40 minutes or so, started turning south, and travelled upward at great speed into the sky, and then disappeared. I stayed watching it through my binoculars the entire time. Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?I dont think so! I never really paid attention to other reports of sightings, however I called the National Sea Rescue Institute, thinking it was a flair, but they did not receive any distress signals from any aircraft or ship. I do believe that I witnessed a highly unusual scene! Witness BackgroundBusiness Owner. Studied Marketing Views on UFOs, before and after sightingNever believed they existed, like fairy tales and a great theme for a sci fi movie! Other CommentsI have completely changed by mind about UFO's. They do exist, I believe there are other life forms elsewhere in the universe. I was very scared and shaken, had I not seen this myself, I still would not believe they exist! Reported Sighting?YesReported To:National Sea Rescue Institute DurbanName:Tasmee HylkemsAge:40 |
