Full Description & Details

01.30 am. A very clear night sky. Partner and I star gazing. Atmosphere very peaceful. Stars are glorious and I ask for a "shooting star". Now I want to add at this point that the term "shooting star" is just that, a familial term that I use with my "star family". Within a minute a small shooting star is seen high above by myself. Happily I acknowledge and give my thanks. My partner asks if a "shooting star" would come for her to see. I ask again and within 30 seconds I hear myself saying, "yes yes they're going to do one for you"... And coming from directly behind us, overhead, comes the widest, fattest, streak of white light that stretches above us and off infront of us and into the mid-sky. The tail of light draws towards the vanishing point of its leading tip and stops dead, then disappears, at approximately 45degs infront of us ... "Wait wait wait" I say to my partner, "they're going to do something else"... And instantly at that very moment in that space, in the sky, a large bright, white orb/circle of light appears, from the point in the sky, where the streak had finished, it then heads directly back towards us. The direction of its travel is 180degrees from the travel of the streak of light. The speed now of the huge orb of light, as it leaves, is leisured, its course is straight and as it comes towards us, up high, it takes about 4 seconds to line level with us and then it veers off in a slight curve to our left, so as we turn and follow it with our eyes it heads off and away from us and over the sea, off of the Suffolk coastline, we continue to track it by sight for about 7 to 10 seconds until it disappears over the horizon towards Europe.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

The streaking trail of incoming light was too wide for a meteor tail and was certainly too low to have been a meteoric trail. This trail was inside our atmosphere and was parallel to the ground surface, and the Trail and Orb were white
