Appearance / Description of Object(s)
Black, isosceles triangle, intense red light( brighter than the planet Venus) on every point, hovering in the air for roughly twenty minutes.
Size of Object(s)
Relative size: 30-40 cm wide, 60-70 cm long. Actual: minimum 100m long, perhaps even 1km long.
Description of Area / Surroundings
Outside a restaurant on a small lake surrounded by a forest, about 15 km south of Mińsk Mazowiecki. In Mińsk Mazowiecki there is a Polish Air Force base with MiG-29 fighters on its strength, but being a long-time military aviation enthusiast I would be able to tell a MiG ( not to mention the fact that fighter jets, except the Harrier and now the F-35B can't hover)
Full Description & Details
It must have been a Saturday because most weddings in Poland take place on that day. My wife and I were invited to my wife's friend's wedding. The wedding party was held at a restaurant on a beautiful, remote lake about 10-15 km from Minsk Mazowiecki. As I'm hardly a party animal, and I don't enjoy drinking alcohol, being an environmentalist I took the opportunity and spent most of the time outside, watching the lake by daytime and the sky at night. Due to its remoteness there was no urban halo and visibility was quite good . Soon after sunset, I think it was around 9 p.m. I noticed in the east( where I was standing- near the restaurant, facing the lake-it was on the left) three red lights, each on one of the three points of what seemed like an isosceles triangle, about 30 degrees above the treeline. The entire phenomenon lasted about 15-20 minutes. Near the end of the observation the right base light moved a little down, and so did the top light. The impression was that the entire triangle turned right a little, the axis being, roughly, the left base light . A few minutes later either the lights went out or clouds covered the object.. There were a few other people standing near and seeing me stare up they also looked up, but I'm not sure if they noticed the triangle. I cannot precisely assess the size of the object, but my impression was that it was huge, at least 100m from top to base. I didn't hear any sound coming from the object, and it's difficult to determine the distance to the object, which could be anything from 1 to 5 km. On returning to the wedding I told my wife I had seen a UFO, but she didn't take it seriously. I was mad with myself that I hadn't brought my video camera along, as the primitive compact camera I had with me was not able to pick out the red lights.
Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?
In flight characteristics it was the closest to a giant blimp, or balloon, but I have never seen or heard of a triangular, or pyramid rather, shaped balloon. Besides, this object seemed too big for a balloon.
I'm a freelance teacher of English, have studied English at university and have been teaching since 1990.
Views on UFOs, before and after sighting
My views haven't changed, ever since I was a teenager I strongly believed in alien visitations. This wasn't my first sighting either.
I am fully aware that 99 per cent of UFO reports are misinterpretations of man-made objects and natural phenomena or blatant lies, but the 1978 incident at Emilcin, Poland, 1985 incident in Voronezh, Russia and in Varginha, Brazil, plus pilot and astronaut reports are for me water-proof evidence of alien visits.
Reported To:I wrote about it to a Polish UFO site, but never got a reply and the site does;t even exist now.
