Full Description & Details
While visiting one of my neighbors in Otay Mesa, which is just south of Chula Vista, California, one night in May of 1975, shortly after dusk I was sitting out on their second floor terrace along with several other adult neighbors, when the lady of the house asked, "What's that"? while pointing in the opposite direction that I was facing. I turned around and saw a large craft flying at a very low altitude and at a very slow rate of speed. Maybe forty to fifty miles per hour but maybe even slower than that. I noticed that it flew in a very straight line. There was a large dome in the center of it's top side. The dome would glow changing in color from a very dark red to a lighter red, then it would go from orange to yellow and then almost white then back to orange and then to dark red again and so on. It didn't blink it just seemed to glow. It reminded me of a glowing ember in a fire. I could see laser-like beams of light coming out of each of it's corners.
Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?
No, not at all.
I have had some college training. I spent twelve years in the U.S. Air Force working as a radar maintenance technician. worked on heavy ground radar. (AC&W)
Views on UFOs, before and after sighting
I have been interested in UFOs since I was around nine or ten years of age, but I had never seen anything out of the ordinary until I saw this craft. This sighing made me a true believer in UFOs although I have no idea what they could be.
