Full Description & Detailsin sept 1975 my vehicle ran out of gas near Rosebud, Montana right of of Interstate 94. Threre were three of us. one man went to town to get gas. While we waited the other passenger and i were lying in the back of my pickup truck. The moon was about 60 degrees above the horizon in the north and a little east and very close to the earth. while looking at the sky, I observed a star about a three or two magnitude. It turned not to be a star because it moved in a straight line very rapidly. I used the diameter of the moon as a gauge and estimated the light to move approximately 20 diameters of the moon in one second. I observed this light for about twenty minutes. It would move, stop for a minute or so, then move again. When i returned home to michigan a month later, I looked up the diameter of the moon and found it to be 2106 miles in diameter. This means the light traveled 43,200 miles in one second which is approximately 23% of the speed of light. when we got to town that night i mentioned what sen nto the bartender and he implied I had too much to drink. However, the man I was with loked at me and said "If would'nt have said anything I would'nt either" . I looked at him and said "Why not? we could only say what we saw". Other CommentsI received a speeding that same evening, prior to the experience. |
