Driving on Highway 5 south to LA early morning with my wife and sister in-law. We had just stopped for gas just before Santa Nella and had returned to the highway. At first I noticed a bright light shining in the rear of the drivers side of the vehicle. The object seemed to be following us on the left of the vehicle headed south. When I made the comment as to who was following us my sister in-law looked back and exclaimed she thought it to be an airplane. The object then made it's way to the righte side of the vehicle. It was black and had three bright white lights, it was very agile. I was driving and looked to the right side of the vehicle and a first glance thought it was a private airplane, but after watching it for awhile I noticed it was too small for a plane. The object then crossed in front of the vehicle to the left again into a field and appeared to begin to land. Just as it appeared to begin to land it swiftly swooped back up towards the sky and we didn't see it anymore.

I was working in Mexico just outside the city of Guadalajara in a little city called Ajijic, we were renting a house and I was taking pictures of the view. We were reviewing pictures June of this year when we noticed this one, I’d like to know what you think. This is over the biggest inland lake in Mexico (Lake Chapala) notice the date on the picture over 4 years ago.

I took this photograph while driving through the Salt River Canyon (between Globe and Show Low) on Arizona State Route 60. We were approaching the bridge at the bottom of the canyon. If you will recall this is the same general area where the movie "Fire in the Sky" was filmed. The date was Saturday, August 6th at about 5:00 PM. I did not see the object in the sky. It only became visible when I downloaded the images onto my computer. There was one other person in the car with me, my wife who was driving. I took the photo with our Kodak Easy Share CX4200 digital camera. I was taking a picture of the bridge because I am a crane operator and one of the men who built the bridge several years ago. There were no other photographs taken through the front windshield on this day but I can assure you that this was not a spot on the windshield. We enlarged the already big picture that you sent and there appears to be a figure or distinct image on the belly of this thing. Too bad our resolution was not better.

I was a sophmore in highschool and was heading down to Gulf Shores for Spring break with my family. We had just stopped at a rest area and were getting on the highway when my dad spotted the object in the sky. He said jokingly look there is a ufo. It was not a joke anymore as the object moved closer and closer until it was hovering right above our vehicle. It was larger than the size of a football field maybe 2. It was triangular shaped and had a light in each point the inside was slightly indented with a curved rim around the outer edge. It hovered about 2 stories above our vehicle. when we first saw it it was about 11:00 p.m. The object floated up and then took off at a high high rate of speed so that it was just a speck in the distance. What is really strange is that when we looked at the clock shortly after it was after 2:00 a.m. but I know that we were not observing it for that long. We had almost 2 hours of missing time. This took place in the foot hills of the mountians in Louisville KY. in 1994.

It was late in evening, dark, when I stepped out of the house, off the patio and into lawn toward the barn where the children were feeding the horses. A bright searchlight, motionless, was suddenly upon me. I looked up to see where it was coming from, when I saw a HUGE disc-shaped circle of small lights to the right of me. It appeared to be a craft and judging from the distance and size and the many lights, big enough to accomodate 100 people (?) in my judgment. The second I made eye contact, the spotlight was gone and the craft shot up like the speed of light, soundless.

There were several strange incidents happening in our area in Ohio during that time, cows found dead without blood, a fellow nurse told me of small disc shaped crafts bombarding her with pellet like beams on her way home from 3-11 shift......

The year was 1949 and I would say it was sometime in late spring or beginning of summer. Sorry I can't remember a more exact dae. We were a group of 4 USAF personnel of an Aircraft Control & Warning Ssquadron stationed at Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque, N. Mexico. We were walking to the mess hall at high boon and we happened to look up to witness three shiny objects at an extremely high altitude. It was difficult to determine altitude or the shape of these objects. From our point of view they appeard small due to their altitude. What attracted our attention was their shiny reflection from the sun. They zipped around in their flight during the time we were watching, changing direction at will. Actually they could change direction as fast as an individual could change their mind. They were not in a definite formation, but each would zip around in an independat direction during their mission or purpose as we watched.

We contacted our Commanding Officer to report what we were observing and continued on our way to the mess hall. Our time was limited as we had to get back to our work stations after lunch. Our CO was responsible for sending a jet to gather information, but due to the altitude of the UFOs, they were up beyoned the operationg altitude of the jet.

I graduated from Abington High School in 1948 and enlisted in the USAF. After basic training, I spent the next 10 months at the USAF High Spreed Radio Operator Schools in Bellville, IL and Biloxi, Mississi ppi before being assigned to an Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM. During my time off, I was taking courses at the University of New Mexico until the Korean War broke out. Our whole outfit volunteered to go to Korea where I spent 19 months. Unfortunaltely we weren't allowed to finish what we went over to do. The then President Truman decided he wanted to belittle the greatest general of all time, Douglas MacArthur. He relieved MacArthur of his command because he thought MacArthur was going to run for presiden and displace him. Most of the Is wanted to back MacArthur and go into Chinba and do the job right. Truman said no. Now we are paying the jprice for what Truman did. We were the only country with the atom bomb. We sat aroung and waited for the rest of the world to catch up. Now uncountable countries have it or able to get it through the underground of terrorism. North Korea and Chibna are not a problem that President Bush created. Unfortunately for him, he inherited it and so did the 250 million plus American citizens because of President Truman..

Sorry. unable to suppy a sketch. Altitude of three objects was too high to make out the shape or size. If we didn't see the brilliant reflection from the sun on these moving objects, we would never have know they were there.

We were at Sea World watching the fireworks (toward the East) and when they finished we turned around and headed to the West were we looked up and noticed a large red orb traveling southest. The moon was full that night but the red ord was very bright. We all agreed it hurt our eyes staring at it. It then stopped in the sky and just hung there for about 5 minutes. All of a sudden it started moving northwest fast and then it switched to moving down and then it just disappeared. The sky was very clear, the moon was very bright and there were not many stars visible. But this red orb was very large and very bright and then it was gone. We all watched it disappear.

Big round light , going much faster than a falling star north to south across the everglades over I - 75 , TOTAL DARKNESS , speed unmeasurable ! , much faster than a falling star meteorite , but stayed at constant speed and shine way after passing right over me travelling westbound on I - 75 , totally clear night , 20-20 eyesight !... SPEED UNIMAGINABLE ! MUCH FASTER THAN ANY JETS OR METEORITES ! VERY STRAIGHT GOING SOUTH OVER THE EVERGLADES !

Thank you for your interesting insight and curiosity about this issue. Your

approach to understand physically what is going on with some UFO sightings

parallels what I do at NIDS. The gravitational lensing effect you mentioned

as a hypothesis is a valid idea given that our advisory board chairman (a

prominent physicist) and myself have proposed explanations for UFO

propulsion that are based on spacetime metric modification, which would lead

to the optical effects you outlined below. Gravitational lensing would be a

byproduct of manipulating spacetime in a tight envelope around a vehicle, or

also the effect of a traversable wormhole appearing through which a vehicle

would travel from another location in spacetime or dimensions. See my

The slides, however, have examples of how a wormhole intersecting our local

space would look optically to observers. The effect would reproduce what

you described below. So yes, a gravitational lensing effect is at play.

You would be surprised as to how it occurs to only a very few people to

think about these things carefully and in-depth, like you did.
