I am an astronomer and very expierenced sky observer and former planetariumdirector.

I had my 7x35 binoculars with me and I looked at this bright object and thru the binocs saw it was a disc with- like frost streamers comming off of it and then 2 to 3 other smaller objects ( craft ? ) came away from the larger object ( mother ship? ) and as they moved slowly away from it. I had the impression I was watching a very ex atmospheric - very large disk object and the relativly smaller 2-3 smaller craft manouvering around the object. I observed this lying on my back on a picnic table in astoundment for about 15 mins. Occasionaly looking away from my binoc eyepieces to see if another campers were about to also look. Finally a couple came by and at that point after I had asked them to look up... They saw briefly the object and then when I then tried to relocate this object in my binocs - it had dissapeared. It seemed to stay relativly stationary in a very high 90 deg sky altitude and 45 deg azimuth relative to Vega and Deneb which I had by then spotted and re oriented myself to the objects relative position in the sky.

I am glad to have a venue to report this to now in Feb 2005. I have also seen two more very strange phenomena in the sky I would like to report as well as a connection to who I feel is a for real abduction victim I encountered when I was in the Patagonia area of way south Chile... Plz advise.

I was looking out my bedroom window waiting for my brother to come home for dinner. As " was looking down the street I saw the ufo hovering over a potato field which is behind my girlfriends house. At the same time I saw my brother walking down the street. I yelled to him to "do you see what's in the sky?" He also saw it. He started to run for home. I called my girlfriend to tell her and as soon as I did that the ufo vanished as fast as it appeared.

No one believes my brother and I., But a couple of years ago my mother in law told me she and a friend saw a ufo that same summer in Vernon, Ct. which is a town bordering South Windsor.

Mother was hanging up laundry. She called to my brother and me to look. We saw it hovering over our garden plot as if looking at us. It seemed to land in some bushes in the edge of the clearing and went to and fro as if to right itself with gyroscope type movements. It was so shiny and we ran to it frantically. It rose as if to look at us briefly and then shot straight up and out faster than one could hardly comprehend. We did not have a telephone so we ran to a neighbors house so my mother could call police. They dismissed it as a toy or something the Millington Naval Air Station was testing and suggested that my mother settle down. When I married, I told my husband and he was also had seen one at about 5 or 6 as did I. He was raised in the suburbs of Memphis but on the other side about 40 miles away. His was with his brother and several other boys. His grown brother- a school superintendent- agreed having witnessed two objects larger and cigar shaped.

the 4 silver discs where in a diamond shaped formation and hovering over city line avenue as i was coming over the wayne avenue overpass, on the boulevard extension of I-76, going south on route one. there was a man in a small flat bed truck riding beside me and we almst side swiped each other, while looking at the 4 metallic discs just standing there. all of a sudden the disc on the left side of the diamond took off across the sky and just stopped over the skuylkill expresswaY AND THEN came back to the formation . i was at my exit the fox street exit so i got off ad i was very afraid that i would be beamed aboard the space ship because i saw them.

At approx. 11:00pm a "ball" of yellow light became visible overhead in the south western sky below the low cloud cover over Baulkham Hills. My husband watched the light from our backyard swimming pool. He rushed upstairs to show me the light - after opening the western facing window I was able to view a bright star shaped orange-yellow light, approximately 10 times the size of a commercial plane as it moved overhead in a northerly direction. There was no sound at all. The light travelled at the speed of a commercial plane, and followed a similar trajectory for a minute before it ceased moving. It remained suspended over the north of the sky below the low cloud cover , and wavered intermittently for a several minutes. The wavering effect appeared to result from the light being very close to the cloud cover, and occasionally cloud passed over it. The light appeared to move slightly from left to right, but with an overall stationary effect - at times I wondered if it might be a flare. The light did not extinguish however, and slowly turned to the east. At this point I checked the distance between the light and my TV antenna to gauge its direction and movement. The light moved past my antenna, but started to become obscured by cloud. I continued to watch the light from my window until a low glow from beneath cloud cover was obscured by my rooftop.

I called Sydney airport to report the light. All aircraft had safely left the airport and there were no reports of aircraft on fire. My husband remains convinced that when the light passed overhead it looked like a noiseless craft on fire. I left my phone number and name. Sydney airport gave me a UFO report number to call.

I then called the UFO report line on a number given me by Sydney airport. The number I called: 07 3376 1780. I reported the event verbally , just as it is reported in this email. I left my phone number and name.

Next I called Castle Hills Police station and made a report, however the police officer laughed at me in a good natured way. My demeanour on the phone was neutral and calm and I reported the matter in a precise matter of fact manner. The officer said he would see if any other reports cam in before filing a report. I left my phone number and name.

Next I reported the event to Sydney Daily Telegraph. There had been no other reports at this stage.

Next I called Bureau of Meteorology. There was noone at the Bureau however I was transferred to an on-call staff member. I was told the light was probably a meteor, however I explained that the trajectory was not steep enough, and also that the light orbited the skyline below cloudline, then stopped. The gentleman was not interested and referred me to Sydney Observatory, where I recorded a message on an answering service that appears more oriented towards booking tours, than to reporting events.

I work as a Telecommunications Wireless Technical Product Development Manager, and consider myself to be well informed, articulate and non-gullible. I am seeking a plausible explanation to this event, and I am sure a rational explanation exists. I am hopeful of understanding this event, because it is unique in my experience. After 25 years in the bush and 15 in Sydney, this is my first sighting of this nature - even though I have had ample opportunity to study the night sky, meteorites, and other cosmic phenomenon.

At first, this yellow light appeared to be a satelite, tracking across the sky very slowly. Then it sopped motion for several minutes, and then it began to change direction and movement several times. The movements were random and for the most part, in the same part of the sky. After some time, the sunlight from the east was starting to creep over the horizon. When this happened, the object which looked like a gold wedding band, stoped movement, and turned red. Then it shot off into the eastern sky with tramendous speed and dissappeared.

I looked out the window. Something caught my attention. I wasn't sure if it was moving, so I kept looking. I thought it was my eyes, but it did start moving. I ran up to the 3rd floor for a better look out the south window. I looked again to the south west. I woke up my mom to ask her if she could see it moving as well. She did see it moving up and down and side to side. At first it was only a white light, but then I could see red and green and blue lights. I took a video on the digital camera. My sister and her friend both looked out the window and saw it as well. WE watched it for about an hour, and then all of a sudden it just disappeared.

Convertible, drive up laurel canyn. park on side street, l0 pm cop car comes, sez this is private driveway we've freked out the owners, we start up motor, my mom, a couple (Gerard and Lois I believe, Wayne,) Me and Barby, two l0 yr olds in back seat...we drive maybe a minute and then see a SUN LIKE DISC or MOON and flamier, no features visible, same size as both our luminaries. It starts at 2 oclock high at edge of mts tops, CANYON is in middle, the void above us...it moves WEST across the abyss of sky, slowly like a diva crossing the sky, reaches l0 oclock high, the west side of sky, goes behind that mt top. LAUREL canyon is really mountaiinous, and we are in the crevace of the canyon. It moved slowly, no sound, none.

Barby is 64 as I am today, my mother is 93, we all remember it. I haven't spoken to Gerard or Lois in yrs. GERARD WAYNE in LA famous tulip fancier. Shouldn't be too hard to find his email. !Q gotta be 180.

mother of four which brings me to my second sighting with my kids...FIVE discs, silver, high noon, they were moving across LA in summer 1972, from west to east.. perfect circles, very high up, cuz when they got to east side of city they start disappearing so they were high up.
