Large yellow ball of light (bright). Moved like a Yo-yo.

For my sighting it was about the size of an M&M. It's actual size is anyone's guess, I didn't get a good reference point for that.

1-2 miles away. Not more than 1,000 feet up.

Well, there's Ft. Lewis but that's miles from here. But in the right direction where the ball might have been hovering. Urban area. I was in downtown Olympia when I saw it.

While driving home from work tonight at 9:50-10:05 on February 23, I saw in the eastern sky a large yellow ball of light. Yellow like a street light. Not more than a thousand feet up. While driving, I kept my eyes on it when I could. As I got closer to the light, it seemed that it was touching the horizon, (close to Lacey). A few minutes later it was back up into the sky. Through trees I tried to see it with binoculars (I had the car stopped at this point). The light remained round with no other flashing lights around it, so it wasn't an airplane, and it moved far too slow to be an airplane as well. It didn't appear that the light turned, just moved up and down. Most airplanes move North and South because of the close proximity of the airport but this moved East to West and it seemed at such an angle that it didn't turn. I thought that it was the landing lights of an airplane, but those are generally white and it wold have turned away from me at some point.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

I thought about the blimp, but blimps follow the flight patterns. This didn't. Hot air balloon maybe? Maybe not. This just seemed to go up and down, balloon have to follow the air patterns.

my friend joey and i were sleeping out behind his house,with nothing but woods for miles.we had slept out there many times we had snacks and listening to a portable radio just like always. I remember this like it happened yesterday. For some reason,I told Joey I was getting sleepy and he said that he was also. I remember us both getting our sleeping bags,as we were doing this something compeled me to turn around. I remember turning and seeing what looked like a street light,and Iremember thinking ,it cant be a streetlight because were in the woods hmm,it must be a star.At that point I turned back to Joey and said,hey Joey look how bright that star is.I remember this so well,it's errie.I can see us both turning and looking at this bright light.As I think now under normal circumstances we would have been scared shitless and ran our asses to his house,but we stared silently at this light as it was about a foot over atree aproxamitly twenty feet away.After a few seconds this started to move towards us and this is the part that that is crazy. as the light started my memory goes blank. The next thing I remember,i opened my eyesme and Joey are side by side on our knees about ten yards from where we had been .Weare now overlooking his fathers big garden. And there hovering about twenty feet over the garden is this UFO ,it was about forty feet wide twenty feet high saucer shape with 5x5 window shapes flashing colered lights red,blue,white again we should have been running but I remember looking at this thing sitting there lit up like a christmas tree not making a sound . I remember thinking to myself what's this thing made of. I also remember hereing a slight wherling sound ,so now I guess about twenty or so seconds have gone by,neither of us has said any thing. as I here this sound I look at the bottom of this UFO and I see a large round part spinning around and around. I take a really close look at the material that thing is made of I see what looks to be a brushed metal.I then look back up to the colored lights that Joey is stareing at. And I remember then Joey saying there's the captian,and I said where? Joey say's right there and he's stareing at these flashing lights. At that point I said Hey lets shine the flashlight at it. And Joey says no dont they'll shoot a ray at us or something. then joey got up and started running towads his house. I wasn't going to stay there myself so I followed him.But I'll never forget as we were running I could see light moving on the ground and in the trees as the UFO must have started to move away I wish I had turned and gotten one more look but I did'nt.Joey ran into his house and woke up parents. They came outside but of course nobody ever beleived us. When I look back at that experience I feel so lucky that "THEY" let me remember everything in such detail.when that occured we must have been eleven or tweleve years old. Iforgot about it for seveal years. Then one night when I was about 18or 19 I was shooting basketball I looked in the window where my parets were watching tv and I saw a bunch of photos of UFO's and as I looked I saw one that looked just like what we had seen.For the first time since that night I thought "OH MY GOD" and been obseced ever since. I have written my story a few times to send to Bud Hopkins but threw it away.Then years later out came Close Encounters and I AM SO glad to had my experience. The area sorrounding the ufo, was the ruins of Macchu Picchu, form the Inca empire in Peru. The tour guide, and other information I found, told me that it's a very energetic place.

I went on a trip to the city of Cuzco, in Peru, and later went to the ruins of Macchu Picchu. I took several pictures, but recently while I was looking the photos, I saw something strange in one of them. Its not allowed for plains or helicopters to fly in that area because it's protected by the peruvian state and international laws. It couldn't be any bird, because there aren't species of big birds in the valley of Cuzco.

No, the city of Macchu Picchu is far from cities or industrial zones. It's a national treasure, protected by Unesco and the Peruvian government. It's not allowed for planes to fly near the ruins.

a traingular shape above harp hill in cheltnham (england). It was humming loudly and emitting a orange glow dimmly from the bottom of the craft. I saw it walking home from st Edwards Sienior since i live in prestbury it was the fastest way home i noticed it as soon as I entered the open by the time I got to the middle of the hill it shot skywards in a flash of whote light and then it was gone.

The sighting occured in a flat rural area with no trees or other objects to block our view. At the time Ellington Air Force Base existed about 50 miles to the south. There were no other features other than a few one-story rural homes nearby.

I am providing this sighting publicly for the first time because I read the account described just recently by an observer in Roseville, CA on Feb. 10th of this year. What caught my attention was the zig-zag or flea-jumping movement of that object. I had a similar experience many years ago and have not read of a description like it until now.

In October of 1959 I was in my sophomore year of High School in Hardin, Texas, a small rural community located about 65 miles east northeast of Houston, Texas.

The sighting occured in early evening on a cool moonlite night while a friend of mine and I walked from his home to mine to watch one of our favorite TV programs. The sky was clear and beautiful that night with a large brilliant moon. I remember seeing the vapor trails left earlier by high flying aircraft criscrossing the moonlite sky.

My friend and I were looking toward the sky talking about how nice it was that evening when suddenly we were alerted to a fast moving blip of light moving northward at a high speed just a little to our right from being straight over head. The light disappeared and at first we thought we had seen a shooting star. But it suddenly reappeared a little further to our right but still moving northward then disappeared again only to reappear back to the same position in the sky we had first seen it but farther north. We watched the object move rapidly northward in this zig-zag motion until is was completely out of sight on the horizon to the north. It took about 2 or 3 minutes for it to get far enough that we could no longer see it.

About 2 minutes after the UFO disappeared on the northern horizon my friend and I heard a lowflying jet aircraft speeding northward but we could never visibly locate the aircraft.

Remarkably, my friend and I said little or nothing about the incident to each other or anyone else that night. At the moment I think we were both in deep thought and silence made us feel the safest. I told a few friends and family members about the occurance years later.

about 4:15 pm at the west I was walking to pick up my son from school, I felt to look at the sky above me, then I saw a UFO like a transparent baloon, with an intense light inside, it was very bright until it became brighter as the son, which coul not being reflected becasue it was behind the object, then IK saw a group of people to whom I approached in order to find more witnesses, then when I looked back it disappeared.

I have seen UFOS all of my life , have about 29 vivid experiences with them, the closest I saw was about 15 feet above me, they abducted me at Mexico city on the late 70's. I have seen them at different distances, locations, sizes and shapes.

I was elated, my thoughts were always suspicious on this subject. My girlfriend was driving and having a bad hair nite. She said it was not the first time she had seen this flying craft before.When she was younger (about 10 or 11) she and her father had an encounter with the same type of craft. Me it was my first encounter.... Interesting enough to have this thing follow you around but when we realized this thing was not going away; all we could do was go to her house. So we did. My girlfriend was terrified she was going to be abducted so we compromised and we would not go outside. The craft hovered over the house across the street about a 100ft above for about a half hour.I had time to call my friend Cindy and tell her what was happening at the moment.I then proceeded to go up stairs (after I got off the phone) and sat in front of one of the windows from her bedroom. There were two windows and I proceeded to observe with my five senses. There was no sound. I noticed the lights almost slowed down to a stop. I felt it could see my past, present and future. Meanwhile my girlfriend was downstairs in the kitchen curled up in a corner. I noticed a woman was walking her dog on the side of the street the craft was hovering on...I ran down the stairs and checked on my girlfriend and went out the front door.There was a formal party on the front lawn a few doors down looking up, like me and the lady walking the dog. The craft slowly proceeded to the woods behind her house until I could not see it anymore. I was 19 and perfectly sound mind. And most of all I was not alone in this experience something I will never forget. All my siblings have had their own encounters.
