It was a nice night in northen irland and i was in my grannys caravan and i looked out of the window to look if i culd see the sea, and then a red flashing light court my eye, i thought it was a plane. 30 mins later i saw it again i was worring wot it was i egnored it again. then me and the family went out for a meal then it was in the same place but flashing every 2 secs. 15 mins after it camed closer and closer for about 30 mins. i was scared then it vanished out of the thin air! then it didnt come bak! it lasted for about 2 and a half hours.

its not a hoaxed it was real!

VERY bright lights, Huge craft, much larger than any airplane, the center light appearing much larger than the side lights making it look like it was curved possibly but not sure on that since it was night and all we could see were lights.

My son and I were heading home on route K-7 North, about 6:50pm. It was a clear dark night. Out the right window, my son said, "What is THAT??" I looked and said I had NO idea. I told him to roll his window down to see if there was any sound. We heard no sound whatsoever. The incredible thing is that the craft or whatever it was, was NOT moving, but just still. The lights were huge and VERY bright. The center light looked larger, making me think that maybe it curved in some way, but with it being dark, and the brightness of the lights, basically the lights were all we could see. It was huge, much bigger than any jumbo jet. We passed an embankment where we could not see it for about 30-45 seconds (it seemed much longer). When we came up from behind the embankment, it was still there. While we were watching it some more, I'd say about 10-15 seconds, it disappeared completely. It did not fly or zip away. It just disappeared. My son and I both were watching it and then it was just gone. Out of curiousity, I looked online for UFO's in Kansas and found this site and ran across photo #198 which looked very similar, considering the night that photo was taken it was very cloudy. But the really odd thing that got my attention was what the guy said about the behavior of the thing he saw. It did EXACTLY what he said it did when we saw it. And both were seen in Kansas. His sighting was in Coffeyville about 150 miles south of here. We are about 30 minutes West and South of Kansas City, in Olathe.

NO, absolutely not. We've even driven back to the area during the daylight AND at night and there's nothing else it would be.

I believe in them, I think we would be naive to assume we're the only ones in the universe, not to mention arrogant. My husband is a former NASA engineer. I attended a UFO conference in S. Dakota in 1996. At the time, I did not know this was going to be a UFO conference. ( I may not have gone if I did!) I thought I was just taking a trip with my boyfriend and his Mom who is a paranormal/UFO investigator, and former CIA operative. I witnessed some unusual things there. I met and had dinner with Gordon Cooper the astronaut, Bob Dean, and Georgio Bongiovanni, the stigmata from Italy and many Indian chiefs. I was one of the people holding hands in the large circle, when a HUGE cloud circle formed directly over our heads. There are pictures online to prove it. I know this all sounds really weird, but it's the truth. Also, I've had psychic experiences since I was a child and they continue to this day.

If you look at photo 198 taken by Brian F. in Coffeyville KS on Feb. 10 2004. This is what we saw. And it did the same thing, it just disappeared.

UFO Studies: The Absence of Science

Your average-Joe rocket scientist might simply shake his head at the mere notion that extra-terrestrial beings have been visiting Earth.

While the scientific community guardedly approaches what inarguably would be the greatest discovery in human history, the thought that aliens have visited - and are visiting - this planet of ours is something to be scoffed at by the educated scientist. That is, while NASA's entire budget might be classified as a fund that aims to discover just that - there is life beyond our planet.

In the 21st century, space programs admittedly declare that discovering some form of life - on, say, a moon of Saturn, or one of Jupiter’s many satellites - is the chief driving force in spending millions and even billions of dollars in venture. If we hypothetically subtract the assignment to discover life outside our home from the NASA mission, the entire organization would shrink in its form (and, largely, its budgets) considerably.

While the human brain has been figuring out things for only a few thousand years, science estimates there are things that have been lurking around in this universe for as many as 15 billion years longer. Yet...to state that this life we seek so feverishly has...well, that it already has evolved? Ahead of the human race? And that it already has thought to do the same as we have - to seek other life forms? And that some form of life out there has been developed to such a stage in its own existence that it has managed to place rivets into metal containers, creating spacecrafts capable of interstellar travel?

Albeit - though we expect the very same of our own race - the idea that others have achieved this is preposterous.

There are many branches of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). However, the overall mission statement for NASA declares that the administration strives to “understand and protect our home planet, to explore the universe and search for life, and to inspire the next generation of explorers…as only NASA can”. Extra-planetary rovers of the program, assigned such names as “Spirit” and “Opportunity”, have been set out to discover if Mars ever hosted life. Space awards have been bestowed upon the craft called “Cassini”, which offered a piggy-back ride for the Huygens probe. The mission of the probe? Discover if the conditions for any form of life might exist on one of the promising moons of Saturn.

As a human race, we forge ahead into space, first exhausting the grounds of our own solar system, scouring for any sign of this thing we recognize as “life”. We are represented by the scientists of our population, who lead us toward other prospective neighboring worlds, probing and scanning, poking and prodding – all in respect to one very exciting ideal: We are not alone.

Many missions of NASA are prompted by that very conception.

In 2006, Atlas V will launch a piano-sized space probe called “New Horizons” that will span the solar system in record time. Its mission: To visit the outer planet of Pluto (and its moon, Charon), to “unlock one of the solar system's last, great planetary secrets”. That is, we have hopes of discovering how water is created on planets. In November 2006, the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, equipped with the highest resolution camera to-date, is expected to reveal ancient water beds of the red planet. “Stardust” is a spacecraft that was programmed to take a 1.5 billion mile round trip course – all to collect some tailings of a comet (weighing less than a pound) and bring the stuff back to Earth. The analysis is aimed to validate that comets contain building blocks of life, labeled CHON. The idea is that these icy-fiery objects make special deliveries of life-giving chemicals to prospective planets as they perform their fly-bys through solar systems like ours.

These days, high-tech telescopes are being built to act as peepholes into the universe. The Spitzer Space Telescope possesses and uses state-of-the-art infrared detectors to pierce the dense clouds of gas and dust that enshroud many celestial objects, including distant galaxies; clusters of stars in formation; and planet forming discs surrounding stars. It is the fourth of NASA's Great Observatories, a program that also includes the Hubble Space Telescope, Chandra X-ray Observatory and the Compton Gamma Ray Observatory.

These super-science telescopes, as with many devices of the modern day, allow us to embark on a bold mission to reveal very modest parts of the unknown to ourselves - in fact, some things which are currently unimaginable. We aspire to shed light onto those spinning objects in the distant skies to reveal more about the things we know little of as well as discover more stuff that undoubtedly will spaw only more inticing questions.

The scientific community postures that if we discover life has formed on one of the planets that share the resources of our own star, it is not only likely that life is abundant beyond the proximity of the sun, but that likelihood is mathematically profound. To venture into that fundamental math is to calculate that we – the humble human beings – are certainly not the first to have taken in life-giving breath. Hence, nor should we be considered to be the first brain in this vast universe to ponder the hair-brained idea that we might not be alone in this ten-to-fifteen billion year old home of ours.

Hence, the voice of science itself should be the first to scream out the possibility that our elusive alien guests have been discovering the likes of us.

Average-Joe rocket scientist fails to position himself well if so much of the costly missions of NASA purport that life is out there to be discovered…but – still, relentlessly – shakes his head at the simple view that he is indeed correct.

A science exists here on Earth, one untouched by scientists. It supports the cause and aim of NASA that “life is out there”. That science – conveniently located in our own atmosphere – is the evidence that we have been visited. The community that very well should be responsible for putting together this evidence is even fortunate enough in that so much of it already has been documented, logged, discussed and recorded.

So, I address NASA, respectfully, and I encourage our scientists to build those spacecrafts, to enhance the resolution of our telescopes and to send probes to places that we are all excited to see. Why not?

But – hey there, Joe. While you’re at it…do as any formally educated weatherman does.

Object was round with 3 large bright white spot lights underneath in a triangle pattern. Had to look very closely to see the round disc as the lights were so bright it first looked like a triangle. One smaller red light kind of in between the white ones. Looks almost identical to the picture on your home page except for the placement of the red light.

My son and I were sitting in our family room appx. 8 pm. Son spotted then I. Object moved very slowly and very low. Appeared to change direction without tipping at all - stayed completely level. Watched it slow and low for about 1 mile then it disappeared instantly.

The first was a bright light in the shape of a person, actually it looked exactly like a person only it was covered in intense light, that didn't seem to illuminate anything else. The second was pretty much the same just a see through shadow though.

I can't really remember the exact year maybie 2004 / 2003, but when i was 14 or 15 i was in my caravan, i live in the backyard of my parents house, because i've got a twin brother & sister who sleep in my old room, i was in my caravan watching t.v. at around 1:00-1:30 a.m. everyone in my house was asleep as was everyone else in town, & i was really busting to take a leak, i would've gone to the toilet in the house but i didn't want to wake anyone, so i went near a tree close to my caravan. I was looking around staring at the clear night sky looking at stars & at my house in complete darkness, & i saw in my house a light, i looked really hard to see what it was & it was in the shape of a person it walked through my kitchen to my laundry then disappeared. I completly crapped my self, not literally, my hair was standing on end, i ran off in my caravan & hid under the sheets & turned all the lights on. Yes i ran off like a girl & acted a little like a child, but if you saw this thing you'd be wizzing like a fire hydrent too. I thought it was a ghost at first & it probably was but you never know. I was scared of the dark for a little while but the next year my mum bought some spagetti & bolonase. If that's how you spell it, it was like a t.v. dinner type. i cooked it up in the microwave & headed to my caravan, once again i needed to take another leak. I couldn't be bothered going back up to the house so i took a wizz on the tree i did last time. I was looking at the stars again holding my dinner in my hands & this shadow approched me, it was in the shape of a person i saw a split second of it but can make it out in great detail, i ran off in my caravan still peeing, & i called my mum down on my intercom & told her the story. Us Australian are pretty open to all possiblitys so she believes me. I hope i never see anything like that again & i am now scared of the dark for life, & if i see ghost movies i freak out & am always looking over my shoulder when i go out the back at night . I have seen a few UFO's once my dad called me out & told me it was Santa. But now i know it was a UFO.

Much larger than an airplane and closer than a plane should be, as there are no airports in the particular area. No noise, no echo, just light. I could see how it came in and went out, but left no traces. It sort of slowed down, stopped and faded out very quickly. It was located in the western sky, approaching from the northwest and exiting southwesterly.

Object had a curved top with sides that came down to a blunt point on the bottom. Distance to the top of the tree was about 1/3 mile. Holding two fingers about 1/4" apart in viewing the object is about right. I estimate the object to bhave been 3' wide by 4' high.

Area is rural and wooded. There were five homes on the north side of the creek, and none on the south side. The Patuxent River Navel Air Station and Flight Test Facility is about 40 miles to the north. A necular power station is about 10 north of the Pax River facility. The Navy Surface Warfare Center at Dahlgren is about 40 miles west up the Patomac River.

Full Description & Details

My home at the time of the sighting was on the north side of Balls creek, a tidal creek off the Great Wicomico River, about 5 miles from the Chesapeake Bay. On the oppsite side of the creek across from my home is a tree lined bank about 50' high. Looking to the left the bank decends to a cove with the ground at just above sea level. At that time the south side of the creek was all forrest land.

It was about 3:00 PM on a clear February afternoon. I was sitting at my office desk behind a large window looking out across the creek. My attention was drawn to two large birds making tight circles about 25' above the top of a large tree at the back of the cove. I noticed a rustling in the top branches of the tree. My first thought was that another of the large birds was cought in the top of the tree. However, within several seconds a teardrop orb floated straight up out of the tree. At first it appeared silver but as it rose it became almost black in color.

It rose to a height just about equal to the height of the top of the trees on the high bank to the right. It then stopped and started floating to the right (west) against the prevailing winds. As it did so it seemed to be rotating slowly and then it emitted a bright flash of brillant white light. My impression was that it had some type of highly reflective panel on it that was reflecting the sun which was now low in the western sky. There were two more flashes of this blinding light as it floated from my left to right. Again, this was a clear sunny afternoon. After the third flash my impression was that the flashes were being emitted by the orb, and not reflecting sunlight.

I went to the upper level of the house which had a large deck across the front (creek side), but the object had vanished.

Although the floating was balloon like, I continue to be baffled by the following:

1) The very active rustling action in the top of the tree.

2) Floating vertically, stopping and then moving laterally. A balloon of whatever kind would continue up even if it were being pushed laterally by wind currents, and this was against a slight breeze from the northwest.

3) The brillant and blinding light flashes on a bright winter afternoon.

It was not a natural object, and it appeared to be controlled.

I've read several books on UFO"s over the years. Several by Donald Keyhoe, and others. I view the possibilty of extra-terrestrial life about 100%, but visiting this planet at about 50/50. This sighting does not seem to fit the normal UFO sighting so it could have been some sort of military device.
