Full Description & Details

I was standing on my back deck with my sister-in-law while she was smoking a cigarette. Suddenly a large ball, at least the size of a tennis ball, perfectly sperical and glowing neon-green with a large tail, passed above us travelling in a North West direction, then vanished. It was a hazy night, and the object was very low in the sky.

This is similar to a sighting reported by a magazine editor on 2/15/04 that was seen on the same night at approximately the same time except for the direction of the sighting.

At first I thought it was a meteor. I've seen many meteors before, as I like astronomy, but never saw one that was glowing neon-green at such a low altutude. I would think that it would have been glowing red and yellow as it was burning through the atmosphere.

I would like to hear from anyone else that may have seen this.
