I report this because no one else is likely ever to do so. As a kid in cub scouts the scout leaders were Air Force personnel from Hamilton field. On a camping trip after the scouts were sleeping the leaders stayed up and talked shop. I was listening as one who worked in the tower at hamilton and the subject shifted to UFOs. The man stated that a UFO landed on the end of the runway and the air police went out with red lights and sirens going and everyone was in a panic over it and then the thing flew away. The man said that the air police were happy it left as they had no idea what they would have done once they got there., he went on to say that UFOs were common just north of the end of the run way which was where I lived as a kid and that when planes were around they disappeared only to come back once the planes were gone. It is not likely any Air Force personnel will ever report this event. the UFO was probably playing with the Air Force.
