Appearance / Description of Object(s)

The object appeared round, emitting a bright white light, not too bright, but brighter than the light a person typically sees when it is reflected off an airplane, and it was constant.

Size of Object(s)

I would take a stab at it, I would say it was about the size of a commuter plane.

Distance to Object(s) & Altitude

Probably 5 or 6 thousand feet.

Description of Area / Surroundings

Pretty rural area. March Air Reseve base is about 20 miles away, and 29 Palms Marine Base is also nearby. I worked at March ARB for many years, quit recently, didnt notice anything unusual there.

Full Description & Details

It was about 11:30 AM , clear, no clouds, and I was surveying some yard work that my friend had completed. Then , something caught my eye, a white glowing round object (moving west to east, and located north of my position) at a high rate of speed, then stopped. Not abruptly, but more like a car applying its brakes, a gradual stop. The object stood in place, motionless for about 3 to 5 minutes, then quickly accelerated east again, at a much faster rate of speed and was out of sight. But as it did, it went from round to a teardrop shape, still bright white. The object made no sound.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

Its possible, I really didnt know what the object was, which is why I reported it. I guess it could be anything. Too fast for a plane, definitely not a blimp. Too erratic to be a satellate. So what was it?

Views on UFOs, before and after sighting

Have always been somewhat of a skeptic, but I have never seen anything resembling this before. Honestly I used to dismiss UFO stuff on TV or books. Now, Im not so sure. I wanted to report what I saw, and was taken to this website.
