Full Description & Details

My street was quiet. All of the fireworks had ended. I was getting ready for bed. The dogs needed to go outside. They were restless. It was a beautiful night. I went out with them. As I stepped out into the yard I saw a red, sort of metallic, glowing object. It was hovering overhead. I thought it was fireworks at first. But, the red thing swayed back and forth slightly. Then it suddenly zig-zagged it's way to another location, paused, then zig-zagged again off into the horizon. The whole time, it made no noise.

I went back into my house, hoping that someone had seen it from a window. No one had.

I have spent more than a month trying to explain to myself what it was. I am a rational person and know that there must be a scientific explaination for what I saw.
