UFO Sighting Report

Summary:
Bright emerald green oval traveling toward the west directly overhead. The speed of the object was comparable to a meteorite I once saw streaking across the sky in 1972 in Greece. However, this object had no tail and seemed to be under its own power.

Full Description & DetailsSilver Spring, MD, USA. It was Saturday at about 9:00 p.m. on August 21, 2004. I was casually gazing out the large picture window which faces due west from our 16th floor condo with an unobstructed view to the horizon. Suddenly a bright emerald green oval shaped object entered the window frame directly overhead and moved very rapidly (straight with a slight jog) toward the horizon, disappearing from sight suddenly about 40 degrees above the horizon. It moved so fast that there wasn't enough time for my husband to turn his head 180 degrees to catch a glimpse (about 2 sec.). The oval appeared to have a dark line dividing it lengthwise into two semi-lobes, reminiscent of the shape of a magnetic field. I watch all kinds of aircraft from this window, but I have never before seen one that looked like tthis or moved anywhere near as fast.
