Full Description & Details

I was a weather officer on duty at K.I. Sawyer AFB. The weather observation site was directly above the weather station and the control tower was directky above the weather site. The weather observer called me and told me there was something strange in the sky. I went upstairs to check and the weather observer and I went to the control tower to get a better look.

There was a cigar shaped object about 25 miles south of the base. The object was silver and appeared to move faster than the eye could follow it.i.e. it would appear to jump without me seeing it. This lasted for approximately 45 seconds after I got up to the tower. Then it was gone. The tower operator reported the incident to the local command post. I never heard anything and was never questioned.. This was in 1974.

About 10 years ago, I read an article on UFO's in Popular Science Magazine. It stated there were numerous sightings on that date date around nuclear facilities and SAC bases that had nuclear weapons.
