October 2nd, 2004

Koh Samui, Thailand.

I am sure that you receive many reports and sightings every day, and what my fiancé and I witnessed on Friday October 1st may turn out to have a perfectly normal explanation.

However, at around midnight of that night I was looking across at one of the neighbouring islands when I noticed two strange lights moving across the sky. They were orange in colour and large, resembling the glow of street lights. There was no sign of navigational lights typical of commercial aircraft. They were moving at a steady pace without sound at a height of between two and three thousand feet.

Almost as soon as I noticed them I went to wake my fiancé. As she came out six more lights had appeared in the sky. These six were grouped together moving at exactly the same speed about a mile behind the first two. As these lights proceeded to fly pass I could see another two following behind the group at a distance of about half a mile for the first and about a mile for the last. (See picture below).



I am not sure what we saw that night. All in all it must have taken about five minutes from start to finish for the lights to move across our field of vision. It was unlike anything I have seen before, the strangest thing being the absolute silence.

Is there a logical explanation for what we saw?

Does my description match up with either something known or something someone has experienced before?

I would be grateful for any answers you could provide. I did try to photograph the incident and took 5 shots. However, when I tried to have the pictures developed, nothing came out. I have retained the negetives.
