Was over Ft. Chaffe, Arkansas and could also be seen at Ft. Smith, Arkansas

Full Description & Details

While at summer camp at Ft. Chaffe, Arkansas in 1965, late night, I was inside a barrack when a friend rushed in and told me about 3 high atlitude bright lights moving in formation. When I went outside with him, he pointed to their location in the sky and I, too, started watching. It appeared as almost everyone at the base was also watching.

After about an hour of watching and listening to the reports on the radio, one of the lights broke formation and started a descent toward the base. It stopped an hovered at approximately 1000 ft. and everyone watching could see the details of the ship. It was boomarang shaped with lights all along the bottom. It stayed for about 5 minutes and then begain an ascent to rejoin the other ships. We watched a little longer and saw the ships begin to move and soon disappear.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

no, although it was later blamed on swamp gas.

Views on UFOs, before and after sighting

Didn't ever think about UFO's before the sighting. Continued to think about it for years, and finally, in approximately 1990, started to read everything I could find on UFO's and government experimental aircraft.

With so many people seeing the same event and the coverage on the radio and in the local paper, I can't understand why this incident isn't listed somewhere.
