Full Description & Details

B-17 formations forming bomber stream at 25000 ft, altitude, into Germany(easterly direction).

UFO appeared, flying westward, lower than and to the right side of the ?-17 squadrons. Weather: clear and sunny. Visibility: 40 to 50 miles forward and backward. UFO shaped somewhat like a

fighter plane without wings. In 15 to so seconds, the object travelled from 20 to 30 miles ahead of

my plane to 20 miles behind my plane. Calculating the speed using the time of observation yields an

airspeed of 6000 to 17000 miles/hour. It may have been called a German jet or rocket plane at the

debriefings of the flight crews.

Sighted another round, slow-moviing UFO movong very slowly at a very low altitude above Bays

Mountain in Knox County, East Tennessee, in summer of 1948, Weather clear and sunny, time,

late afternoon.  Craft moved SE along the side of the mountain, then crossed over the crest to the

northern side . Altitude: app. 100 feet, speed, 10-20 mph. Surface appearance, non-metallic,

No lights or windows or protuberences, had a dull gray translucent appearance
