bright blue-white light manuvered high overhead up the kanawha valley,slowly, emitting no beam of light. just a ball of light which could move at 90 degrees in different directions. there was no sound, no intentional direction. we were all students who had been to dinner at the school cafe. at the front of our ancient dorm were puzzeled at the sighting. afterwards someone called the local airport to ask what we had just seen. we were informed there was nothing in the area

this old country kid knew he saw an object in the sky. i had never heard of ufo's and to this day don't believe in space visitors but do believe in ufo's and after 48 years think i know the answer

With parents and brother in caravan holidaying on farmers field. Early hours sat up looked through window and saw it there just still. Was mesmerised at the huge size of this brightly lit thing on its edge like a deep pie dish fluorescent pink colour. I gazed at it wondering and then before I could alert my brother in bunk it suddenly and silentlymovecd off with great speed and entirely silent. enormous speed. no noise. So sorry I didnt wake brother but it just was so amazing and I did not move from looking. Am getting olcder now and did not want this to go unrecorded as have not told anyone other than brother and parents. In 1996 had the experience of three discs orbs of light dancing towards me in the garfxden. Felt uneasy and watched. Then my Uncle came outsixde to se what was taking so long with the dogs and he witnessexd the orbs too.

I was on the fire department and we had been out at a woods fire. while returning I was riding on the tailboard, alone, and looked up and saw aprox. 6 six objects in a curved almost V formation. I could not communicate with the otehr guys on the truck so I just held on and watched. The objects stayed that way for about 3 minutes then they flew away at very, very high speed in sveral different directions. They didn't fly out site, as if going off the horizon. They just seemed to disappear. I have never told anyone. But it has aalways stuck with me. I tried to reason it as being tired from all the physical work fighting the woods fire,I tried to reson it was military aircraft. While they resembeled stars they moved in ways that no star could. I thought over the years I wouldforget it. It is just as clear today as that night.

I was a military intel officer in the 80's and have seen many ufo's up close as well as aliens. My father also saw many of the same things that I saw and more since he was stationed at area 51. On or around November of 1988, I know this because it was deer season, the three of us were going out to our deer camp to spend the night so we could be ready for deer hunting the next morning. We worked the second shift so we were off at midnight. As we approached our turn to go back in the field we noticed a bright light in the sky. At this point it seemed to be descending and was just a bright orange color. As we drove down the lane, which goes uphill, the light seemed to have disappeared, but was still creating an eary glow in the eastern sky just over the hill. As we approached the top of the hill we saw the object sitting in the field about 300-400 yards away. We immediately came to a halt, trying to figure out what the hell we saw. At that point one of my buddies said "Look at that, what the ", right there with this object was a team of military men or specialists or something. The object was at least 50 feet in circumference with no type of landing gear that we could ever recall. It just seemed to sit there motionless and hover. The militarywere into what nowadays are called Hummers. At that time, we had no idea what they were. At this point we were more intrigued than scared, then all of the sudden the unidentified craft shot a bright white light toward the ground either out of the bottom or side or something, it then began to what I would call whirl around at an unbelievable speed, then stopped suddenly. All at once out of the light came a figure of what I would call a woman dressed completely in a white dress of sorts. At this point we recall the military men taking the woman with them. One of the military guys I believe saw us or something, because they hurried their actions, the object began to whirl again with a bright orange light spinning so fast that it looked solid. Then all at once we remember it stopped and shined a very bright light at us. We were scared as hell now, and tried to leave. Our truck was brand new, it wouldn't start. It was dead. The last thing that we can put together after that is when we woke up from what ever happened, the truck started right up, my wrist watch had stopped at that time, which was about 2:16AM. It was still dark out but the radio said the time was 4:20 AM. We lost a little over 2 hours somewhere. The truck had been moved about 100 feet from where we remembered being. We didn't hunt there either. I have seen this bright orange light several times since this incident, but have never lost any time again. I have been wanting to tell my story for years, but I have only told it to a few people, because I thought everyone would think I was making a big one up. I'm glad I found this sight. The 2 guys that were with me have never even mentioned it since. One of them I see occasionally, and the other died about a year later. This is a true story, if anyone has ever seen a ufo that emits a bright orange light, stay away from it.

Single, silent, steady red light... It was at first the size of a grain of rice at arm length, moved very slowly along ridge opposite bank of river along a ridge. We observed the object about two hours drifting 100 to 150 yards above hilltop , moving northly along and then slipping over the ridge as a steady red light.

We easly watched it as we sat by a fire, and wondered what it was and what it was doing. Object continued drifting west till size and shape was unmistakable, it was a perfect cylinder; glowing steady red in color. Maybe about 90 to 120 feet long ( I'm guessing about the size as there was nothing but the slash piles beneath it to compare it to) It started emitting a single search light which moved about looking around the ground, then a second search light, both intensely bright came on, and it too started looking around.

Object was tilted slightly downward at the searchlight end. It never turned, or rotated, always staying lengthwise to us, ends pointed roughly north and south. There was no sound, though river’s water noise could have been as loud or louder then it might have been.

My idiot friend turned on an off his flashlight while pointing it at the object. I made him stop. There was no response to his light, thank God. Yet, after about 40 minutes of looking for something, and about 5 minutes after Dan blinked his light towards it, one searchlight went out, and almost instantly the other one went out too. Within a three seconds of the searchlights going out, and while we were still sitting watching it, the object seemed to completely vanish, or maybe it went totally dark. No sound, no light, just sudden darkness.

Woods were completely quiet, only the very faint whooshing of the river. No crickets, frogs, owls- nothing. I had been there many times; it was never that still before. About fifteen minutes later the stillness was broken by a sudden, intense windstorm above us that seemed confined to the upper tops of the large Douglas fir trees that were still there at that time. Branches as large as 4 inches broke out of the treetops, a great number of much smaller pieces and cones as well. Branches in the middle of the tree, and the ferns all around us were completely still, except for being hit with pieces falling from the tops being violently blown about. We were so afraid.

We took up our .22’s and added all the wood we had available to the fire. The small dog my friend had brought, that had been acting nervous, now hid in the sleeping bag and shivered. Wind lasted about 10 minutes died down to about half as hard for about a minute in time, and then just suddenly stopped, just as suddenly as it had started. There was no light with the wind, only just wind. Once again, total silence. No wind, no animals, no crickets or frogs. Then, all at once we were very, very frightened.

It was at least an hour before we could try to sleep. Somehow we did, though later that night I awoke and heard loud walking noises in the woods near where we camped, the fire was low, but I could just make out something big and dark moving around where we were. I tried could not wake Dan or the dog despite my spirited attempts. I fired a shot, to frighten away whatever it was when it seemed to be moving right towards me, and Dan and the dog awoke. At the shot, the dark shape I had seen moving towards me was gone.

I heard no running or crashing as I have when running off bear and elk before and since. The next morning all around our camp the ferns had been smashed flat in a circle around us in a path about 2 feet wide and 60 feet in diameter. Dan didn’t want to even speak of it then or ever again. It was years before I could go back there. It was, and is still very, very disturbing. I haven’t seen Dan in years now.

Driving north towards Cressy, my partner, myself and two teenage daughters noticed a very bright light low to the horizon to our left (west). At first we thought it was a plane but it appeared to be stationery, very big and bright, and very low ... so if it was a plane it would have been about to crash. We pulled over into the gate of a paddock and got out of the car. The light appeared to just hover above the paddock, no more than 100 metres above it. At times it appeared to move towards us, and then move back (on reflection this could be an optical illusion - perhaps it was 'growing' in size and then reducing giving the illusion of moving forward/back). There was absolutely no sound, no breeze, and it was a clear cold winter's night. At one stage it darted very quickly to the east, then hovered again for maybe another five minutes, then darted back to it's original position. We watched it for a full 15 minutes or so before it lifted silenty straight up and disappeared from sight.

*** Have subsequently been back to the spot, and noticed that it is directly above the main Tas Hydro power lines that travel from the Central Highlands/Great Lake area to the midlands/Cressy area.
