It was very bright and `plate´ or `pancake´-shaped.

It was quite far and high, but it`s very difficult to estimate.

Urban area, with buildings, football-fields, water-towers.There´s also a big shopping center near by.

I saw it in the eastern sky from my balcony, which is in the seventh floor of the building. The object with a bright light was moving in a horizontal position and stayed visible nearly 20 minutes. It looked like it was burning, but it didn`t leave any signs (smoke or else)in the air. The weather at the moment was clear.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

It wasn`t any of these objects.

was taking photographs and saw a disc shape rising up from the horizon to the right of me into the sky at a vey fast speed.

The day was of clear blue skies about 1530 in the afternoon.

There we were out on a claypan getting ready to go hunting when I spotted this object in the sky to the east of us . It was a shiny chrome-like rounded diamond shape, it was just hovering there. I called my brother ,who doesn't believe in UFO's , to have a look, he could see it also. It stayed there for about 10mins and then whilst I was looking at it , it disappeared before my eyes (in a split-second it was gone) .

This day in late January at about 1500 in the afternoon with clear blue sky and no cloud around.I was sitting on the grass having a cigarette with four other people when I spotted out of the corner of my eye an object in the sky (clear blue sky )it was above us (I couldn't tell you what height) I thought it might have been a helicopter or plane, but it was silent and stationery (hovering). I mentioned it to the others and three of them could see it as well, but one of them couldn't see it at all!! It was like a 'chrome' rounded diamond shape.Then it started moving toward the west (silently)slowly at first then picking up speed and accelarating away at very high speed. This gave us all a thrill except the one who couldn't see it, he thought we were 'mad'.It gave us something to talk about for the rest of our lives.

It looked like it was made out of a smooth metallic material and was about the same size as a blimp. It also had a darker band that wrapped horizontally around the middle.

I was driving home from school and I saw this object that appeared to be floating in place. Luckily I had my camera with me from the class I was in and was able to photograph the UFO. It sat in the same place hovering with out making a sound for about 3 minutes and then slowly moved into a patch of clouds. I waited for about 10 minutes but it never came out of clouds, so I left. I also noticed, when I first saw the UFO, that other people were pointing and looking at it as they drove by.

Could have been a blimp but not likely because of its movement.

August, the sun had set and three of us were standing on the 7th floor balcony that faces south,

over looking Portage Ave. I was looking around and across my line of vision a grey object appeared.

It was coming from the east and it was not high in the sky and it seemed to float up and down

guickly as it headed south- west. My first thought was " look at that plane, it's flying with no lights".

The other two people I said "look at that " and they couldn't see anything and i tried to follow it with my finger so they would see it. They could not see it. This happened in about 15 seconds before I lost sight of it. It was a grey object against a dark sky.

A large "X" shape, the "legs" being VERY slightly curved, a pure white, very bright light, with no other discernable features or colors. The shape and "outline " was very clear and had no distortion considering the brightness of the light.

My home is in an urban area not far from a mountainous dessert area. The object appeared to be over the dessert area between two small mountains. Where I believe it to have been would have been unihabited.

I live where I can view passenger jets coming in and going out of the Las Vegas, Nev. McCarran airport, as well as many flights at high altitude going to and from California. At this this time of year when it's cold outside, there is no heat distortion as there is in the summer months. In the past I be;ieve I saw the space shuttle one night, as well as possibly seeing the new Air Force "Raptor" a day or two after it premiered in southern California at a sporting event - I believe it was the Raptor due to it's abnormally high altitude and velocity in comparison to the normal passenger jets I see almost nightly. With this kind of "hobby" of watching the sky, what I saw this particular night had my attention immediately.

To the southwest of my home there was a very bright "X" shape - a very pure white light. I could not discern any outline to this motionless object. I moved 6 to 8 feet to the left and right to see if I could notice any kind of movement, but that failed to see any. After about 4 minutes, it looked as if it might have moved directly back from my location as it looked fracionally smaller in size. One of the things that astounded me as I thought about it later was that as bright as the light was, it did not cause any distortion or ability to clearly see the exact shape of the object. The legs of the "X" shape were both slightly curved, but only enough to see that they had some curve to them as opposed to straight lines.

If my estimation of the distance of this object from where I was at the time is close to accurate, it would have been in somewhat of a valley between two small mountains that are maybe 2 to 3 thousand feet in height. And, if the distance was accurate, I estimate it's size to be that of about 3 to 4 747 jumbo jets - that's the other thing was "scaring" me some.

I get up early (3:15 a.m.) for work, and one of the first things I did the next morning was to see if it might still be there - no such luck. This is the first time I've ever even contemplated submitting something like this. It really blew me away.

I believe there is life elsewhere in the universe and I have a consistent interest in television shows that may have credable details about possible UFO sightings. I don't discount UFO's, but this sighting has me stumped as far as coming up with any other reasonable explanation unless "Area 51" has a really neat new toy.
