While looking at the moon i noticed a bright ball south of the moon and went in the house and got my wife and camara and started taking pictures.The ball went from south of the moon heading north.It past by the moon and started flashing and took off north and it was gon.

(Classical ufo shape, though i had no knowledge of such things at the time/year of sighting). Had a row of small oval fussy unclear windows along the upper dome. All object dull grey in colour. Totally silent. no lights anywhere. Was totally still in the sky (till it sped away)

Lived in a hostel in the countryside at the time (1958-9). Summer night (about 3 am) clear starry sky. Warm and calm. Room mate woke me and said what's that out there. We both had a view (uncurtained) out of long french-style windows, first floor of a large hostel-mansion in very large garden area, trees bushes lawn riverlet etc.)

I got out of bed sleepily and went to the window and stood there looking into the sky from the angle at which my room mate had looked. I did not see anything. I instinctively looked to the other side (my right hand) and there in the sky,just above the garden's chestnut tree was this object (ufo as I learnt thirty years later!). It was just above the tree stationary, no sound, no lights.

I stared at it, to try to see into one of the oval-shaped windows that decorated the upper dome but I couldn't see through. Being a teenager I had good eyesight and the ufo was only about fifty feet vision distance away from where I was standing. Suddenly, in the blinking of my eye it sped away toward the distant hills, but above their horizon, still in the sky. It had a slight curve trajectory. I held it in my sight, seeing a slight puff trail of pink smoke-like stuff following I which disappeared after a couple of seconds. I stared hard at the object (which really was only a speck of light now and for all the time was a light speck from the moment it sped off!). I stared till I could not see it and only saw the stars about the higher sky.

I felt sad that it had gone, like a cat that had lost its plaything mouse down a drain grille!

I wondered (years later) why - if it was - it was observing us in the bed room; it had awoken my room mate and had moved from one side of our view to the other. I wonder if it/occupants saw me standing in full view at the window looking at it.

Oddly enough, many years later, I visited a friend in the north east of England. He happened to introduce me to a friend of his and we seemed to recognise (or she recognise me). We talked and it turned out that she lived in the same village at the time which i did and she used to see us orphan teenagers walking past and up to the main school each morning. She told me of colourful lights she and her family used to see over the local common land (in the sky). I told her about the ufo I had seen.

Never knew anything about ufos before the sighting. Never read anything before the sighting. Only in very recent years have read a bit - and watched some of the x-files episodes.

Still very curious by the disparity between distance and speed of travel and the visual aspect of this in relationship to the ufo I saw.

when i was shooting hoops i wanted to stretch because i was tired then when i looked up to crack by neck i saw a bright, round, red, light, it held there like 3 seconds and zoomed of into the sky. it was a clear day and i see this object and the contrast was significant.Another sighting is when i was at church on a Wednesday night and when i looked up to the the star a bright blue object flew passed the tree line and i though it was a angel but i dont know anything about them so i assumed that it was a ufo. like the other story, the contrast was tremendous.

has to be a UFO because it was to fast to be any of the above, and the light was pretty bright

My co-worker had a pair of binoculars in her car trunk. I clearly saw the red and white details which made it look like a candy kane.

Was fishing with a friend in hastings river estuary and, it was about 2am. I was looking at the stars, was an exceptionaly clear evening with no breeze. I noticed quite a lot of shooting stars in the sky that night but there were 3 that caught my attension the most. First 1 flew at a very fast velocity from east to west from what seemed the horizon from the east to the western horizon, I have seen many sattelites and they move across the sky much slower than this object. Then about 5 minutes or so latter I seen 2 shooting star like objects going from the eastern horrizon but going strait up into what looked like space they were also travelling at a very fast velocity. They caught my attension because I have been star gazing for most of my life and never seen shooting stars move at these velocities or in these directions before. Nor have I ever seen a shooting star travel so far without burning up. The only reason I am reporting this is because I was reading some of the other decriptions here and felt I had to share this. If they were UFO's I can not say but I have never seen shooting stars do what these 3 shooting stars done on that night. Nearly all shooting stars I have seen in the past have had a downward trajectory, 2 definatly went strait up.

they were not stars planets or anything or planes or sattelites they looked like a bright shooting star defying what I see as normal behaviour.

i only want to wright this once as it upsets me . one summer evening wen i was about ten im now 50 me and a freimd were asked to go to the local chippy so we went the long way cause it was getting late we as kids we messed about on out way as far as i knew then we went straight to the chippy and straight back it wasnt until about twenty five or so i remembered that that evening i was abducted all i remember is seing somthing above me so close i could see details i can remember any more but i know somthing unusual happened and as i remwmber wen we got home we got told of for being so long i know i was abducted is it usual that people who have been abducted lose there memory and it comes back also i always her a high piched sound is this normal i know its not much but its my experience
