Appearance / Description of Object(s)Close to around the luminosity of Venus but slightly brighter and wider in diameter. Just barely brighter than anything else showing in the clear sky. It was whitish or yellow in color. Size of Object(s)Rather hard to determine the actual size, considering distance and darkness. Description of Area / SurroundingsAt this time, around 1979, this particular area--a subdivision called The Trails--was somewhat rural. There were some horse pastures nearby and on occasion I heard coyotes in the distance. I lived not far from the sighting and our townhouses bordered the Mesquite Golf Course (another reason this area was more secluded; there was a pond, lots of trees, and creeks). I heard from more than one person that a high tech company in Garland might have been involved with "experimental activity". Tangent: before this incident an air force jet caught fire, streaked across the sky in broad daylight and crashed across I30 in the general vicinity I witnissed the above object; it exploded in full view while waiting for the bus in front of the elementary school. The explanation for that crash was lightning (though i never witnessed any lightning it was an only partly cloudy day). Funnily enough the pilot's pants landed on our roof from the ejection and we ended up fishing them off with a rod and reel. Full Description & DetailsA friend and I were just walking about on a clear night in what used to be a more secluded area of the city. For whatever reason I was drawn to what appeared to be a bright looking star and I immediately pointed it out to my friend. After some seconds of examining it, the bright object zig zagged in an obviously "impossible" manner and zipped away until it quickly vanished. Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object? Not at all. Witness BackgroundI have a 4 year degree in visual design and do some freelance work. Views on UFOs, before and after sightingBefore this sighting I had never been familiar with the now somewhat popular "zig zag and then disappear" reporting or behavior of UFO's. Somewhere around this time I received a telescope and was into astronomy and science. Reported Sighting?NoYour Location:austin, txAge:35 |
