ball glowing mostly white light - very bright some green light on outside no sound no trail didn't seem to be completely solid - like mercury "Hg" on a plate. Solid but liquid. Maybe distortion from heat.

I don't know. It was low in the sky and ~ 3/4 the size of the moon.

~ 30 degrees from verticle and horizontal south west

Description of Area / Surroundings

Urban area. I was in my backyard near downtown Houston and the Medical center. It was a very quiet, still night. No helicopters or planes at the time. No noise, frogs, dogs.....very quiet.

At 11:20 p.m. Houston, TX time, I was facing west to south west and an object came across the sky that was very liquid, (like mercury "Hg" on a plate). The color was silver and it was illuminating a green light. It flew from east to west, very low to the ground. It was ~ 3/4 of the size of the moon and seemed to be not following a normal flight pattern. It seemed to be lower than a plane would fly. It was a very still night. No wind, no rain, some clouds. The object did not make a sound or leave a flight trail. I was alone (my husband was in the house), but my 3 dogs all looked to the sky and watched the object with me. After the event was over my dogs continued to look in the direction of the event and whine.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

Not a star, planet, moon - too low. Not a bird or cloud........no. Not an airplane, satellite, blimp or weather balloon. I have never seen anything like it before that evening.

Views on UFOs, before and after sighting

I did not believe in UFO's before and now I question my mental state or believe in UFO's. I know what I saw and I know I am not crazy so it had to be something. I just can not explain it.
