Appearance / Description of Object(s)The object was bright, like a strobe light. I can best describe it as a meteor, only it was much bigger and close to the ground Size of Object(s)I would desribe it as being the size of a commercial aircraft. Only there were no reports of plane crashes at that time. The object was round. Description of Area / SurroundingsRural area. in a heavily treed area west of the road. It looked like it could have been toward Old Roseville. The railroad station is in that area. Because it was dark, it was difficult to determine the exact location. Full Description & DetailsAt about 1:00 or 1:30 a.m., me, my daughter, and a friend were driving southbound on Auburn Folsom Road toward Douglas Blvd. To the west, about a half mile from the road, an object, very large, fell from the sky. It was too large and low to have been a meteor. A meteor of that size would have had catastrophic circumstances. At first we were thinking it might have been a plane crash but the object was a white flash of light, not orange or on fire. It looked like it was about the size of a commercial aircraft though. None of the occupants of the vehicle were under the influence. Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object? The object could have been a blown transformer but the object looked like it was actually falling. We thought it could be a plane, but it seemed to just appear like a shooting star. Witness BackgroundI am an office worker. I do like to read about paranormal phenomenon, mostly ghosts and spirits though. UFOs don't really interest me. Views on UFOs, before and after sightingI believe that UFOs could be possible. I tend to be more logical in explaining things. Other CommentsThere were no reports of plane crashes. I'm not sure if there were any power outages in the area at that time that would explain the sighting as a blown transformer. It seemed too big to be a meteor and seemed to fall very slowly.
