As my girlfriend and I were driving down highway 50, heading back to Gatineau after visiting my father in Buckingham, the object sundenly appeared in the sky out of knowhere to our left. It was a bright white light, but it wasn't white, it was more like a light green almost white kind of color. For a fraction of a second, the object remained still in the sky at about 500 ft. It's almost like it turned "ON" it's light or something.

Then, it did this strange flying sequence, in the shape of a ~ (see attached image), at the speed of a falling star (too fast for a plane, too strange of a sequence for a firework or falling star, plus falling stars don't show up in the sky at 500 ft. to remain still and then continue to fall, especially not in this kind of sequence). The flying sequence lasted about 2 seconds and it then turned "OFF" it's light when it was at about 200 ft. from the ground. The light did not dimmed down, it simply turned off. It was also too bright and too big to be a falling star and was not the same color. It wasn't high in the sky like you normally see falling stars, it was at 500 ft. and at about 3 kilometers away from us, above farm fields / industrial parc.

When we saw this, my girlfriend and I both looked at each other, tears in our eyes, asking ourselves, what the $#@% was that? We saw planes, falling stars, helicopters, fireworks, lots of stuff at night, but nothing like this. You just had to see it.
