My friend and I were sleeping outside,in his front yard, watching for shootng stars. It was the summer of 1967 and we we both 14 years old. It was midnight to 1 am when we noticed what appeared to be a moving star traveling across the sky...the stars were brillant that night as there wasn't a cloud to be seen. As it was moving slowly we discounted that it was a star and thought it was a sattilite. When the object reached directly over the top of our town it stopped moving and started getting larger in shape as if it was decending. I became quit frightened as I thought it wound fall on us. The shape, as first seen, was the size of a star, by the time it stopped getting larger in the sky it was the size of a small button held at arms lengths, about 20-30 times the size as originally seen. It stopped moving for about 30 seconds and began moving away very fast in a zig-zag movement until it disappeared.
