I was a sailor aboard the naval vessel USS Muliphen AKA61 IN 1967-1968. We were returning from the 6 month Med cruise and was halfway home. We were in the middle of the Atlantic when we were ordered to go topside to see something strange moving back and forth on the water.

EVEN MY CLOSEST PAL, EARNEST MARTIN MM1, WOULD NOT TALK MUCH ABOUT IT UNLESS I BROUGHT IT UP. THAT'S WHY MANY YEARS LATER I ATTENDED TO THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CRASH IN ROSWELL. I NEEDED TO TALK TO OTHER PEOPLE. EVEN AFTER ALL THESE YEARS. Other CommentsFIND AND SEARCH THE SHIP'S LOG FROM THE USS MULIPHEN AKA61. SPRING OF1968. RETURNING FROM THE MED-CRUISE TO NORFOLK, VA- AMPHIB-BASE. IT TOOK US ABOUT 8 DAYS OF STEAMING TO GET BACK HOME. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE LOG ENTRY MYSELF. IT HAS TO BE THERE. YOURS TRULY, JERRY WINN.
