My father and best friend were picking my brother and myself up from my moms house in the city of Middletown New York . It was a Sunday night around 9:00 in late July or Aug. The four of us were walking down the walk to the street. My brother , Father , and myself were talking , My freind was up ahead maybe ten feet. When my freind got to the stairs that went down to the road and sidewalk he started to look up and point to an object that was hovering across the street. Est. between 500 and 1000 ft. no sound , ring of lights spinning slowly. could see dark backround against night sky (light polution). Hovered maybe two minutes. slowly drifted away out of sight. Father flew Helicopters during Veitnam, I also live by Stewart Airport. Never seen anything like this . To this day the four of us still have no idea what we saw.
